I recently got a new laptop. Now before you say 'no get a desktop faggot', here is the laptop's specs.
http://rog.asus.com/notebook/17-inch/g75vw/
with i7-3610QM, 16gb, 670M 3gb gddr5 [the same as the desktop 660 but correct me if I am wrong on that end]
My question to you all, what are some games that you guys recommend? currently the only two that I have atm are dead space 2 and half minute hero [it is worth the second purchase, I previously had it for the psp]

Is this Half-Minute Hero, or Half-Minute Hero Super Mega Neo Climax?
Recettear. You own an item shop. If you somehow get bored of that, you can go into dungeons in a real-time RPG to collect items and use a spear. Other characters have different weapons, but why would you pass up using a spear?
Super Meat Boy is good, but it's not as hard as people say. It's surprisingly very forgiving of mistakes when you're going for the par time. Although Meat Boy gets progressively angrier as he dies, so he loses his cuteness as you continue. You can use other characters in response to that, but they just aren't as good.

Ah i forgot to specify its "Half Minute Hero: Super Mega Neo Climax Boy". Not too thrilled about the new artstyle but the upside is that the 8-bit graphics are included as well.
I heard about Meat Boy and the Binding of Issac. Recettear sounds pretty interesting. There was a rpg kinda like that but you ran a bar and had to go and kill monsters to cook them up and serve to adventurers. Can't remember the name for the life of me.
Team fortress 2 is a given lol I just gotta go download it.

Ah. Is the combat for Evil Lord 30 and co. like Hero 30's, or is it like the PSP version? I was disappointed when the 360 version made them all like Hero 30. It made the game feel stale.
The game you are thinking of is named Adventure Bar Story in the US. I personally like it, but only being able to play it on the iOS makes it a bit of a failure, and the random encounter rate is through the roof.

"Half Minute Hero: Super Mega Neo Climax Ultimate Boy" [yea I forgot to add the 'ultimate'...] has all the extra modes in their original form. [probably due to the massive backlash for the xbox 360 version]

Dark Souls: Prepare to Die edition
i would be playing it right now, but my computer isn't good enough to run it (damn you 4 year old 300 dollar laptop).
also you can never go wrong with Valve games such as Team Fortress 2, Portal 1-2, Half-Life series, Counter-Strike, and Day of Defeat (though i don't know how many people still play DoD).
also League of Legends, though as always the F2P model is a bitch to deal with.

I guess it's better if you tell us what kind of games you do like, or what genres you usually play.
Personally when I do get a better computer I want to play the s.t.a.l.k.e.r and Witcher series.

With that processor, you could hit up Shogun 2: total war with good FPS at about medium / high graphics I guess.
Even my school issued laptop with i5, 8GB DDR3 RAM with a Intel HD 3000 card can run the game smoothly at high # of soldiers but at low-medium graphics.

My main interests are horror games and bullet hell not gonna lie.
I am pretty hyped about Hawken though more than likely I'm checking out the valve games since I haven't played any of them save for the first portal and a little bit of TF2 on a friends computer. [3 months ago, yes I know I'm behind the times].
I thought about playing LoL but I'm not sure if I'd stick with it. The only mmo I really got into was phantasy star online blue burst.
A few PC games I played in the past:
Starcraft [not II]
American McGee's Alice
Fahrenheit
Team Fortress 2
Quake
Clive Barker's Undying
The Dark Eye
System Shock 2
Almost everything by Catus and ABA games
Blue Wish Resurrection Plus
PSO: Blue Burst
I can't name any others off the top of my head but these I remember quite clearly, especially 'The Dark Eye' holy shit...

It's very well designed and part of the main reason why I got this specific model. Every laptop should not have to have their fans on the bottom lol
Skyrim is indeed on the list of games I need to play anyway.

La Mulana is a great choice if you like metroidvania style games.
Retro City Rampage is also a great addition if you like 8 bit style
you should go to http://www.gog.com/ for some classic games and good deals. I love that site because all games there are DRM-Free
