Arcana Heart 3
0
I finally got to download Arcana Heart 3 last night now that the PS Store is up and running again and I got to say, it was so worth the freaking wait. As a 2D fighter gamer, it had some sexy as hell animation and the fighting system is deep, though has a strict learning curve, if you've already played Guilty Gear and Blazblue, this seems slightly harder.
So far, I'm kind of relearning how to play this, my favorite of the girls seem to be Kamui, since I like to refer her to GG's Johnny and BB's Hakumen because of her sword drawing techniques, can't wait to try the rest and be better at this. Anybody willing to be s training/sparting partner?
And don't get me started on the trophies, looks like some of most challenging I've come across in a while, but that's what will make me like this game more.
Any thoughts from the outside about this game will be appreciated, this is one title that shouldn't be undrrappreciated, I'm urging much people out there to share the LOVE for this game!

This game is has a very hard and steep learning curve as you mentioned. What I find really hard is that some of the moves are so goddamm hard to pull off without tons of practice, like Saki's Critical heart.
As much as I like to spar with you, Im playing the Japanese version of the game.>_>

Japanese version can play with the English version of the game with no issues, actually.
also to potential players, do not let the looks of the game fool you: this game is very legit, the gameplay being every bit, if not stronger than the big name titles out in the fighting scene now.

Yeah, don't underestimate the game because it's a bunch of bouncing boobs. It's honestly one of the mos technical games, much more than Mortal Kombat or Marvel Vs Capcom.
Since PSN store finally got restored.. I can finally buy mine..

to tell the truth, there's very little sexualized fanservice in the game anyway, if anything, some things are just way too overly cute, lol.
also, remember when you are playing this game, standard definition is the way to go, sidebars on/off. Widescreen actually changes how a handful of characters combos work, the easiest example anybody can see being Petra's bullet trajectories.

I'm bookmarking these links and going to put them to use, thanks also for giving a strong feedback about how the game can kick serious ass despite its level of moeness and um...fan service.

Oh thank you. I was just about to make this type of topic myself if I didn't find one. I just got Arcana Heart 3 myself a few days ago since the shop is finally back..It was surely worth the wait and has not disappoint me. Unlike all the other games out there now in days. It's pretty much fully balanced. Your health and all of that all depends on your choices and combinations you pick and etc. = w= But I don't mind playing sometime with anybody when I have time..my PSN is pretty much m Fakku name.

Arcanas being universal for everyne means you always have something to cover up your characters weaknesses, which what I really like about the game, but again, goddamm those commands, Having played the JP version from the go, I could not till this day pull off Saki's and Ayane's Critical heart.>_>

I've seen Arcana Hearts quite a few times before, but I never really paid attention to it. But looking at it again, I can see the game looking very promising. I can only imagine how much depth it has as well. Also, I'm honestly not very fond of Street Fighter or Marvel vs Capcom for that matter. Too much simplicity there. I prefer games with a more complex style of depth (which is why I started playing BB again).
If I had a PS3, I'd pick this up.

Last fighting game I bought was Street Fighter IV.
This will be my next one. I ought to change style once in a while.

Well I downloaded the leaked version for PC (to give it a try since I dont own a PS3). Gotta say, this game is very promising. Might have to pick up a PS3 just for it. AH3 for PS3 and BBCS2 for 360, heh.

I've been playing this game since I got my JP copy (2 days after the release day) and would consider myself a decent player. I really love this game, so much that I pretty much completely dropped BBCS for this. And that's a big deal, coming from the guy who modified his arcade stick SPECIFICALLY for BBCS2 (taunt button on the side to emulate the start button on the arcade for Taunt Loops). If there's anyone here who would like a few pointers on Weiss specifically, or just looking for a match or two on the East Coast, shoot me a PM here or add me on PSN : Kyragnar

too bad the internet connection sucks in addition to the netplay being kinda weak across distance.

Whenever I get a PS3, I will get this. I've been playing the arcade rip and have been quite content playing Plant Scharlachrot after getting used to things.

I was under the impression that America was all about Saki and Weiss (and maybe Kamui). Then again, I haven't paid much attention to what others are picking lately.

yeah random Sakis and Plant Scharls are the AH3s version of SSFIVs Ken and Ryus. Tons of em all over the place.
At the very least, people have stopped trying to scrub out with Fiona after getting blown up.

I'll try my luck with more online to see if it fares, I only played a couple ranked and player matches before I knew I needed some brushing up, hence I've been doing some trophy hunting to get me more used to the game and I'm already at 41%, my latest gained trophy was the one for Akane's 'Atatatatatatatata!" trophy and I even didn't use a turbo controller. My fingernails and some practice were adequate enough for me to get it. Moving on to the few remaining challenging trophies...

I enjoy using a lot of character as I expand. But, yeah I noticed Plant Scharl's almost everywhere online when I played this weekend..mostly them spamming and doing keep away. IT's sad when nobody wants to combo in a good game..But anyways, I started to use Heart some more once again since I mained her in AH I. I enjoy hearing. "Mi Ku Mi Ku ru~ Ai Daisuke Punch!" Or however it's actually spelt..I find it.. extremely adorable.
