Maybe... we are becoming better gamers with time, that or games nowadays are designed so that even little kids can play the "mature" games.

well I guess it cant be help... cos not everybody is a hardcore gamer so when most of the player cant finish the game and end up giving up on the game half way there wont be good for buisness... But it will be a major let down for hardcore gamer.. this days I found myself encounter alot of time I would say "wat this is it?"

Regenerating health...the biggest hand-holder in a lot of modern games, and, IMO, the reason games are becoming too soft. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE GOOD OLD DAYS OF HEALTH PACKS?! EVEN COD1 HAD A FUCKING HEALTH BAR THAT NEVER HEALED ITSELF! DX
Excuse me while I try to vent my stress with some Doom...now THAT was a hardcore game at its hardest. I miss the good old days. T_T

Then came the "impossible" scenarios in the game where you would be ambushed by dozens of enemies or armor. Such as the Russian mission when you are defending an apartment complex for several minutes, lots of soldiers and tanks come your way. If you ran out of health packs, you were screwed. Doesn't help when the AI is always gunning for you, even if there are 20 allies in front of you. Personally, I don't mind regenerating health in those games. Same goes for every shooter that has health packs. The only one to take it up a notch was Goldeneye, your health and body armor were two separate things and you would receive permanent damage for your health.

Oh, GOD! You HAD to remind me of THAT one mission?!
Either way, after multiple attempts, I did manage to actually do it. So, I stand by my argument, and would like to add:
"If it's too hard, just fucking (wo)man up and keep trying!"

Kind of hard to keep it into consideration when on Veteran. Perfect shots going for the head from the AI that is on the other side of the city, equipped with an Mp40.

I haven't really found many games that don't use Hints or Help tools. Would like to see some.Play Demons/Dark Souls offline.
That shit will blow your mind to pieces. Especially Dark Souls "where the fuck do I go next" teasers.
Also, your signature hurt me.
Yea I was like am I meant to be going here I don't know.
There is no map which would help.
There is no quest dairy to help keep up with any current quests and a reminder of what needs done.
So far I'm only ever told to 2 things ring the bells then there was some thing after the bells but I forgot what it was but the guy that told me said never mind what I said I was wrong.
At the start it was really confusing but once you get to grips with it it's fine.

Well, perhaps it's their way of casualizing videogaming, by making them easy even for retarded people. Perhaps this era of gamers just need to grow up. Then again a lot of people aren't that much into videogames as we are, and that's 0K. Videogames isn't a very healthy hobby in the end.
What I do think they should do is make more games targeted to dedicated or "hardcore" gamers.

yes it has. v.v hate to say this, but the halo ce remake has dumbed down on teh legendary seeting. on teh old one, I was stuck trying to boared the truth and reconsiliation. on the remake, I beat the game in 4 days, with grunts b-day, grunst funeral, catch, and few other skulls on. of course I died a few dozen times, but not as much as I did in the first three missions on teh old halo ce, plus it took me 5 days to get to the thrid mission which is racking up ragequits like crazy.

Just another ex. of what I mean by video games holding your hand:
Assassins Creed 1 was a fun as shit game, & it had some decent difficulty.
Assassins Creed 2 had new toys so it seemed easier to a vet AC player, but was basically the same deal.
Assassins Creed Brotherhood however decided that you should be able to kill everything with one hit by adding kill combos(mash one button over & over to kill stuff) & further hold your hand by adding recruits(who pop out of the most hilarious places btw)
Then AC Revelations did a slight change by keeping the toys & SOME enemies can be kill combo'd, while upping the difficulty by adding clusterfuck minibosses & shit. All of which cleverly disguises the fact that this time you have the option to get your hand held (calling your recruits)
