About Air Support (PersonDude)
Air targets for me is my worst enemy, but not impossible to kill. What I do is I have my engineer loadout with tracers. Now the tricky part of this setup is to get the tracer on to the helo. Once its on, its usually game over. Always use the stationary machine guns or at launchers on the ground. It just boils down to timing, luck, and the skill level of the guy flying. The homing launcher you get is somewhat rubbish. But thats just me. And it doesn't take too long to get it either. So here is what I do when I want to take down airsupport.
Shootting the cockpit to get a headshot kill on the pilot. This by far is the hardest thing to do when shooting a moving target. But I've seen people steady their helo in the air for a short period of time. When I see that I usually take out the sniper and aim at the windows hoping for a kill. It's one chance shot.
My second tactic is when they do their attack run, specially with the Apache is to wait till they drop low. Cause they have to descend slightly to fire their missiles (no so much with their gunners). Some folks dive lower than others. I usually take this time to fire my rockets at them at this time.
This was never the case in Battlefield 2 when people had flares and heat seeking stationary rockets to take down air support. But for whatever reason they didn't put it here is something that bugs me.
About the grenade launcher
I think they purposely made the grenade launcher an anti building weapon. For balance issue they probably nerfed it since assault can literally have infinite ammo. I remember the days of battlefield 2 and infinite grenades. It was a nightmare.
About Classes
What did you feel that they did wrong with the classes? I personally feel that every class is balance except for medics and the m60 (I'm guilty because I use it too)

Thanks for the tip. A friend of mine playing it started an Engineer and told me about the tags so I guess it isn't too bad.

I only have a problem with the sniper class. The sniper is pretty under powered because of the bolt action reload. Once you're tagged, you're fucked and if two people gank up on you then game over since assault class can easily counter snipe using the 4x zoom scope.

Its like that with most games. Snipers simply cant put up with cqb. My only tip is to quickscope headshot targets at close range. Or if you use the m95, use 4x scope and kill people at cqb. It seems to one shot kill at close quarters. Or use a red dot sight on your sniper <.< I've done this way too way many times.
But you stand a better chance if you get a decent vantage point against any class in this game, specially assault

Well in case of recons and close combat, i prefer using handguns. They can be very effective at times xD.
And yea m60 is indeed overpowered shit, you take hardcore mode 4x scope and what do you get: a weapon that has 100 bullet mag and kills an enemy with an armor upgrade skill in 3 shots in the body.
As for which S rifle i prefer, that would be the one you call Bolt.
Why? Because with it i simply feel like i'm really sniping. I like to take my time following the target with my scope, like *Be one with my Gun feeling*
And semi auto stuff is no different than machine gun only that the bullets are affected by gravity, while on machineguns they are not*strange but it's a fact*.

There is a setup for the Recon class, so it can easily stand up against other classes in close quarters. Just load up the VSS Vintorez full-automatic silenced sniper rifle with Red dot / ACOG and Magnum rounds. That thing just about 2 shots people easily. It's lot more stronger then the M60.
Though it's bad side is the 2x extra clips and since the red dot takes the 1st specialization slot, so you cant have that extra ammo (this is retarded imo. I'd love to have a medic kit for say... Magnum rounds and LMG upgrade for example). So better have an Assault buddy nearby for those extra magazines.

I tell you in Hardcore mode half the ends up going Recon I swear most of the time I was the only Engineer trying to blow up the two marauding tanks in Port Valdez.
M60 is op but they're easy to deal with you just gotta be faster and maintain your cool 3-4 burts from most submachineguns does the trick or 5 rounds from the M1.
Maps
There are about 10 maps. They aren't too bad and it's a nice refreshing change from close quarters combat from MW2. The problem is, the game usually treats you to about 5 of them. Probability means jack. Not only that, the maps' tactical layout usually don't differ much from one another.
Being that the game has only been release recently give it time and more maps will come out play all the game modes to enjoy all the maps and get some variety.
Shooting & Damage
I don't know where it first originated from, but most of you who have played MW2 know about the hits indicator that appears whenever you hit a target. In this game, it only works about half the time, if that. And that's when it feels generous (Mostly happened with snipes). If it's not feeling up to being the game it was designed to be, you might be unloading a whole clip of LMG on a stationary target without the game registering that you're even hitting the target. This game eats your bullets for fucking breakfast, lunch and dinner. So bring a lot of ammo.
Additionally, the game either isn't letting the enemy damage you too or the game just hates to notify you that you're getting damaged, because I could have someone shooting at me for quite a while, and the damage indicator doesn't tell me jack shit 'til I'm near death. Have fun being buttfucked without ever knowing you've been penetrated.
I remember the hit indicator first appearing when Battlefield 1942 was first released.
All I can say about this is burst fire and I'm sure people would agree.
Ignore EA's description for the weapon you want to burst with the machinegun as you wont get any accuracy unless you unlock the MG upgrade speciality which is more generous when it comes to automatic fire.
I dunno about the damage indicator it usually works 100% it's pretty obvious being in the middle like any other game, unfortunately that's not the case when you get face creamed by snipers.
Sniping
I was actually looking forward to sniping, as I like sniping in MW2 and a friend (Xel) said sniping is quite overpowered in this game. When I first jumped in as a sniper, and brought up the scope, there was no sway which gave me an even bigger incentive to agree with Xel's comment. Until I came across my first enemy. I soon realized the only 1 shot 1 kill I was going to get was with a headshot. That's fair, but the sniper rifle was a painfully slow as fuck reloading bolt action rifle. We've got a sniper rifle that can blow apart tree trunks (I must say the game does have a cool destructive environment), but I cannot get 1 hit 1 kills unless headshotting a person, with an extremely slow reload rate. I realize skill is the first and foremost factor in sniping in any game, but the rate of the reload was ridiculous. If I was having a bout with two snipers, I would be fucked regardless of my skill. "Why not run, or go prone?" you ask? Well, running might work if there aren't other snipers around, but going prone? You can't go prone in this game, which brings me to the next part.
A good indication that tells you to learn to conserve ammo is the fact the sniper rifle doesn't have much ammo and the slow fire rate encourages that you make your shots count as opposed to firing like a crazy man (highly recommend using the 4x scope much easier to snipe).
Hardcore mode makes the Recon guys terribly overpowered as guys are just getting picked off from a mile away.
If you've played Battlefield 1942 or Battlefield 2 the same rules applies there.
This is Battlefield not Call of Duty they're both different games.
No Prone
What. The. Fuck.
The game devs excuse was that they wanted to reduce campers which is bullshit since the best killstreak I've gotten were from camping. Complete bullshittery.
At first I was pretty annoyed at the no prone feature.
But you learn to make do.
Apparently the devs wanted to make the game less campy and force people to move up and fight. From your statement that you got most of your killstreaks by camping just further proves their point.
Having come from the previous Battlefield game on PC BF2 I can tell you prone made the game stupidly campy and at present BC2 is already campy enough.
Nube Tube
Don't even bother. The shit coming out at the end of the barrel isn't a grenade, it's a giant piece of shit that's aged a year since there is absolutely no splash damage. Probably a last minute addition that people could have done without. Should have used the time to implement a fucking prone system.
If you hate it now you would have hated it more in the Beta the 40mm did bugger all compared to what it does now.
I think Dice purposely made it weak so that people wouldn't be able to get so many cheap kills, like someone mentioned before you need improved explosives or a dead on hit to get a kill otherwise make use of splash damage to flush people out and blow holes in cover.
Vehicles
The thing for sure I thought was going to be good in this game. Wrong. If playing Rush (the preferred mode in this game for most people), usually the Attackers are the only ones with vehicles. Meaning, if you're on the defending side, you're fucked as the vehicles can tank impossible amounts of anti air shit you throw at it. So watch your K/D ratio go down to hell as you get mowed down over, and over again as the enemy spawn camps you in the air.
Being a seasoned Engineer player all I can say is: RPG, RPG, RPG, Mines, and dart gun.
Helicopters can be shot down with stationary machine guns or play as medic and take potshots, with a bit of practice you can hit choppers with RPG rockets or get a mate to tag the chopper with the dart gun and fire away with the RPG.
Tanks can be easily dealt with by using the various stationary AT positions (remember you don't have to stay on station if you don't want to guide the missile anymore), taking potshots with the RPG preferably from the sides or back, and mines (if you're game run up to the tank and drop mines in front of it).
Well that's the end of my rant. Hopefully, I have saved a few handful who have bothered to read this rant in buying this horrible game.
If you're after run and gun stick with Modern Warfare 2 if you want something different play Bad Company 2.
Keep in mind they're different games you can't expect everything to be like Modern Warfare 2.
I know most of these points have been addressed but that's my 2 cents.
If anyone wants to add me to their BC2 friends list my name's: spectre257

The game is really fun to play and you get a different experience with every match. Playing with friends is where it is at though. Coordinating attacks/other stuff can make the difference between having a fun game or having a game where people just fail miserably.
I find it to be a step up from its predecessor.

Now playing strictly on Hardcore only, makes my blood boil.
So far my best round on hardcore had a k/d of 45/13 and it so happened that all of those 13 deaths were made by enemies constantly knifing me O.o *Note: i was playing as assault with a shotgun the whole round*
For those who haven't tried yet i think i can explain what Hardcore mode do.
1) No radar
2) No ammo HUD *you have to guess how much ammo you got left
3) When you spot an enemy or if there are already spotted enemies you don't see red dots on them *basically you're on your own*
4) Friendly fire *so satisfying when you can kill your own teammates lol* not cool when you get shot by a bored ally while you're controlling UAV though.
5) Triple damage *now i can finally run around with SPAS-12 and don't give a crap about trying to aim for the head, it's one shot kill anyway no matter where you hit*
6) You are dying literary in min1~max2 hits *depending on enemy's weapon*
I suggest players try it out, it improves satisfaction by a whole several levels lol *at least for me*

I've killed enemies without having the hit indicator ever popping up on me. I don't know if all the fans are just ignoring the issue or if it really doesn't happen to them as my friend has noticed this while playing as well.
As for the game eating bullets: Yes, everyone has mentioned burst fire which makes me wonder if they didn't know that MW2 also encourages players to burst fire? It's not a new concept to me. Although you say to ignore EA's description, the fact that LMG's do become more accurate while you maintain fire is still true. When you're standing 30 feet behind an enemy, and unloading the whole clip while he doesn't even notice because he doesn't see any tracer rounds going past him because his body should be absorbing all the shots, you know something is fucked up with the game.
Happened to me again with burst fire on my assault rifle as I was shooting my friend. My friend had joined in late so he ended up on the other team so he can attest to this as he saw the bullets come straight at him. Sufficed to say, he was able to kill me even though I had almost a 1 second drop on him.

I'm talking about the slow reload rate which stops you from killing multiple targets that have spotted you. No matter how good a sniper you are, you'll only be able to down 1 target before the other person downs you, since most everyone have the same zoom as a sniper scope even on their LMG and assault rifles, which adds to my argument that snipers are under powered. Yes, I do realize they have a 12x zoom, but no sniper really uses it since it cuts too much of their field of vision.

Not really since that's how sniper rifles should work, although being able to kill hitting a limb is over powered.

The fact that camping works means the other players are stupid seeing as how there's a huge red dot that appears on their radar if someone fires. Also, the game has implemented 2 features that should be enough to deter campers. Spotting an enemy is one of them (A VERY powerful anti-camper tool BTW). The person who got killed should be able to use the spot feature to point out the camper, especially since the game forces you to watch the enemy that has killed you running around downing more of your stupid teammates who don't know how to watch their radars that point out an enemy if they've fired there guns, which is the second feature they've added to deter camping.

I realize these have a specific use, but acting a little more like a grenade wouldn't have hurt, but this was one of the lesser complaints I had about the game.

I'd like to mention again, that only specializing in repairing and destroying vehicles was not what I had in mind when I bought an FPS.

Notice that my major complaints lie with the game not acting like how the game was supposed to be and its balancing issues. The fact that it doesn't play like MW2 is a given. This is why I bought the game since I was ready for a fresh new game. In fact I'm enjoying the game when the game acts up to what it was meant to be.
EDIT:
Minor, but pisses me off none-the-less: While spawning, there's a countdown until it displays "Ready". But when it says "Ready" you have a full 1 to 2 seconds (the game decides since it's not really fixed) in which to watch your teammate die. If you aren't ready to spawn me in game, don't say "Ready". Just tell me there's another 1 or 2 seconds before I can spawn.

Some tips to people who came from Call of Duty.
1. Bullets don't fly straight because of gravity (like in real life), aim high.
2. Before you disarm the MCOM, please and I mean PLEASE clear the location first of enemies.
3. Don't mostly be a sniper in Rush, you lose that way.
4. HELP OTHER PEOPLE.
For a better way of explaining things.. (and for lulz)
For those who want to add me as friend (PC version), username is ExESGO or if that doesn't work try [+ExE+] ExESGO.
Oh and btw, shotty sniping = damn fun. <too many people would like go "Hey! You Hacking!" and then it's fun to bash them for being stupid.
Best fun I ever had was having "Flight School" lessons for people who don't know how to fly properly. I have successfully thought 7 people how to fly and land a chopper PROPERLY.

Funny thing is the red dot and 4x sight for the sniper rifles make them easier to aim long range than the normal scope.
They fixed the huge number of mines trick you can only get that many if you've got team mates to help, better way is to use AT mines to demolish buildings :p
Also paddle kills are pretty funny if you can pull them off in multiples.

For the scope thing.. I dunno, I just use my mental observation and adjust my aim properly above the guys head or ahead of him if he's running.

Damn right it is!
Nothing better than paddling the poor bastard.
But I reckon it wouldn't be as humiliating as that dude who got hit by a throwing knife from the other side of the map on MW2.
