fuck 3d fighters...thoguh i will say DoA women have awesome boobs if nothing else.

2d fighters are the way to go!

kofxi
and ngbc mostly for its damn good netcode un like garou or 98um which is ridiculous. also pretty well balanced game (i'd play it on xbl, but my 360 is fukken shit atm)

HAWT DAMN! This made me kinda sad that it's not for PS3.

Lol, I must say though that, with my experience from DoA 3, the fights seldom (or never) go that smoothly and look that awesome. Why? Cuz, as you said, mashing buttons is not an option, so you must actually know every characters every move, and also have the reactions to time them perfectly every time for it to be like that. Guess it is not an impossible feat, but it takes annoyingly much time to get into it.

Still crossing my fingers to hear of a DoA5 for PS3...SF series is the best. I played Tekken 2-6 and I can't say it's bad, but it isn't exactly the best.

Namco's Soul Calibur team needs to prioritize on something more fundamental than just graphics.

It fail in my eyes because the IV one failed to do a simple story-telling (I have to read from a fucking biografi) , and talk about spamming SHORT dark-endings...Worst part is, They've taken the Dancer Class out from the game, that's the best class their IS~~

Soul Calibur 3 was the best from all.

My favorite fighting game series are Soul Calibur and Tekken

I am falling for Ayane of Dead or Alive, so I decided to give DOA a whirl.

Also, Tekken is my Fighting Game forte, so i'm going with Tekken

=p i generally prefer 2d fighting games coz they are generally faster paced and combo oriented. But SF4 really is fast paced for a 3d fighting game, and its awesome ;D

cant wait for MVC3, im sure its gonna make it to my top 5 or even top 3.

cant belive no one mentioned this game but i guess it was a little under the radar but i mean what's better then turning into half human half besat hybrids Bloody ROAR was one of the best and still is if you ask me fighting games the last one that came out was pretty shitty though but primal fury and Bloody ROAR 2 were good they were same games but primal fury had more characters added and was for game cube and 2 was for ps2 i just recently got ym friend ot hack my wii homebrew and all that and now got a copy of primal fury and i love the way it is the graphics are ok the story in the latest ones is a little lacking though i dont see why you need a story for games like tekkan and soul calibur and bloody roar and DOA i mean do we care about the story or the gameplay and graphics i would say the other two are most important and for that i say bloody roar and soul calibur are two of the best also 2d versions of street fighter and majority of tekkan games
also the cpacom verse marvel games were legit and another fun game is the new one cpacom verse tatsunoko some memoriable characters and stuff very fun :D

I am very inclined to agree, and I do. However, while these are the "best fighting games," I have to be the odd ball and talk about a fighting game that was a lot of "fun" to play, and that game? Braces your self, Mortal Kombat II

Why? Why not?! I spent many hours playing this with my friends, console and arcade, its was generally a fun fighting game and the best in our opinions at the time, and even now I still rate it high, though more due to its nostalgia aspect. MKII had more characters then the previous game, like most other games that get continue being made, and the introductions of new fatalities were awesome and hilarious! I could probably go on more, especially about how violent the game was for its time, but I've said what I wanted to. Thanks for reading.

lol, that's one game that slips past my "radar" because of it's absence in this recent years.

and I don't really play much Mortal Kombat after Mortal Kombat Trilogy for the PSX. XD

well, it's still Best fighting games IMO, so people are free to express what they like and not. :D
