Best Stories(for Ps2 & xbox gen, to the PS3 360 gen

As the title implies I would like to know what your favorite game stories were/are for those platforms. I intentionally left out generations before that cause there are too damn many to truly narrow down to one favorite for me personally. Anyways heres mine.
Ps2: Hands down Odin Sphere. That game was beautiful all the way through and it didnt give me any sugar and rainbows. They throw oppression at you at every turn. And just when you think youve figured out the story, they throw a mindfuck at you. Truly wonderful.
Xbox:FUCK xbox mine broke the day I bought it so the only game Ive ever played with it was the one time xbox campfire hotdogs.
PS3: So far the Assassins Creed series. When it isnt fucking your mind metaphorically its fucking it literally.
Xbox 360: Admittedly I barely ever play xbox(see above) so the only one I can think of is The Last Remnant.

PS2:From what I've played Xenosaga has great character development and a multi-layered story. Note that I haven't finished episode II and haven't started III, and three could really make or break the series for me.
As far as stuff I actually finished, I'll go with Metal Gear Solid 3 I suppose.
PS3: Metal Gear Solid 4, easily. It has some rough patches, for instance the Meryl/Johnny proposal scene had some PAINFUL dialogue, though the actions of the characters in that scene were badass but overall this concluded the Metal Gear storyline nicely.
Xbox 360: Mass Effect, I suppose. Though, much like Xenosaga, it's third game could really make or break this series.

Persona 4 for the ps2
and unfortunately i don't have any of the next gen consoles like XBOX 360 and PS3 so can't say anything but MGS 4 looks awesome and i guess the story must be pretty good too :P

PS2: The only games I ever played on it were GTA games San Andreas was my favorate.
X-Box: Halo (at the start I hated these types of games mostly because I was young and was scared of dying in the game for some reason but grew to like them for the fun I had playing multiplayer with friends.)
360: Mass Effect Series (I preferred the 1st ones characters and skill point system for leveling, Second one was better for game play but I was disappointed at 1st, I'll be really disappointed if Liara doesn't rejoin my crew or progress my characters relationship.)

Spoiler:
Did Jak and Daxter ever end? I lost all confidence in the series after Jak X
I liked Jak X, but yes, the story ended at 3, the newest spin off was terrible.

Oh ok. I thought after 3 they were going to go into how he actually became the badass that created all those temples and traps that he had to get through, or possibly come up with some ultra alternate timeline sequel or something. BTW I loved Jak X as a game but as a story it was bullshit. Why the FUCK would you drive around to get an antidote when you basically have the powers(and guns) of a demigod? Either blow shit up til you get what you want or turn into an angel thingy that can stop time and heal everyone. Problem solved crisis averted.

PS2: My personal favorites are varying from Tales of Legendia/Abyss, Shadow Hearts 1 and 2: Covenant, Grandia 2, Psi Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy, Odin Sphere, Okami, God of War 1 and 2, Devil May Cry 3, Zone of the Enders: The Second Runner, Xenosaga trilogy, Onmimusha series, Castlevania: Lament of Innocence and Curse of Darkness, Growlanser 2 and 3, Metal Gear Solid 3: SnakeEater.
PS3: I have yet to play this but it's Metal Gear Solid 4, for the rest, DarkSiders, BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger, Uncharted 1 and 2, God of War 3, Ninja Gaiden Sigma...I haven't played too much PS3 games thus far, now that I look at it, PS2 had some really epic games storywise compared to some current next gen titles, time to expand my PS3 library some more.
