Bringing back Arcades

Or better put, on the way to bring back the arcade experience.
I'm currently helping out a store that just popped up near my house. It's better described as a 'console arcade'. People come in and there's a list of games that are available for each console. There's a pay per hour set up though it is pretty cheap.
They have a small list of games available atm. Though most of the stuff available is the newest releases [They have Mortal Kombat, Brink, L.A. Noire]. They are looking to expand the list greatly over the summer.
I've made a small list but I am very sure I haven't covered enough. So I'm asking everyone here what would be really good games to have at hand at this place. I don't have any of these systems other than the Wii so my choices are greatly made from the short times I got to play at a friend's house.
Here's a list of what they do have currently:
And This list here is the 'to be purchased' list that I typed up a few hours ago
Anyway just looking for a bit of help with this, I want to know what I am missing. Do suggest ps2 games [and gamecube] as well since the group acquired a few systems after a meet-up.
If things go well business wise [its actually going pretty damn well to be honest despite the small selection] the group is looking to added a few arcade machines as well as a bar that serves themed drinks. [like the place in NYC]
So um yea any and all help is welcome lol

For arcades you'll usually want to invest in games that has at least 2 player capabilities because I don't think anyone would want to go to a arcade that only has 1P games.

The best arcade experience is back in the day when you payed 50cents to play.Where people socialized with others in person not over the internet.I don't know how to describe what i want to say but for those who grew up in the arcade's before online gaming know what i'm talking about.

Rockband games, bitches love Rockband games. Series became more fun to me than GH but that might've been I know more people who will play Rockband over GH. Team Fortress 2 may go over well as well.

Maybe you should have the option to allow people to reserve the place and have PC lan parties or Xbox system link parties?

There is a option to reserve the area for parties and whatnot. We don't have any PC's in yet since we are just starting. All the PS3's and Xbox's are connected to the internet so wireless parties are no problem at all.
@DonkeyFace: Most arcade machines have 2 player modes. Or are you talking about the console arcade part?
@Mr.Tifa : This is basically what I'd like to include to appeal to more people. I know exactly what you are talking about. Nearly every friday and saturday in my days on the base, I was down at Aladdins Palace playing House of The Dead 2. I am hoping this goes well so a traditional arcade gets added to the place. I miss my Wangan...
@HokutoCorpse, added SSFIV AE to the list. Also wondering how far old school are you talking about? Like NES?
@ZKnoves: Team Fortress has been added [as "The Orange Box"], RockBand is added as well.

Like Pacman and Space Invaders for that true arcade feel.

Ah yea those machines are definitely going to be picked up. Though getting machines is a little ways off at the moment. I say machine since I have yet to find anything that satisfying on 360, ps3, or wii.
A few other machines I had in mind were Xevious, R-Type [though I doubt we can get one as those are hard to find even in good serviced condition..], CarnEvil, That Haunted Castle machine with Super Mario Bros. in it. Too many to sit down and list for tonight lol
@Pervy Fatman: The group started out with the consoles but there will be a arcade and not those low tier arcades that people find in malls [the ones that are filled with broken ill repaired machines]. You see the Gameworks here shut down a year or two ago and this places just popped up, loads of people are asking for actual machines here too. Unfortunately, the budget wasn't as big so me and a few others are spreading the word around the DFW area to fix that little problem. Once everything is set we'll be getting machines.

Alot of arcades disappeared for a reason.... they probably wasn't making that much of money at all.
I know for sure won't go to one unless they had an unlimited gaming night for 20 bucks or something, a promotion that gameworks in my area did alot before they closed down for some clothes shop.

Surprisingly enough the arcade where I live is still around and it still makes money. I don't see it closing any time soon.

Bah u just reminded me of old pizza parlor I used to patronize until I moved to other state. That thing was jampacked until the era of ps and n64 and dreamcast, it became alot more empty than usual. Got arcade in the back while eating tables in the middle. and cash register stuff in front.

So then are you're planning to get some arcade machines as well? Cause I think this arcades was consoles only hence why I said something about investing in 2 player games.
Then again you do have a few 1 player games on both xbox and ps3 like god of war, bayonetta, assassin's creed (unless you're getting brotherhood), heavenly sword etc.

@Callonia: Our gameworks fell and became a aquarium. :(
@Nexus: Scandia is quite the definition of bad ass arcade name. Im not sure what's up in texas since almost every arcade ends up closing way too soon. The only notable arcade that is still around is Arcade UFO in Austin.
@ DonkeyFace: My bad totally took your post the wrong way lol. Yes the group is looking to adding machines in the future. They do plan on getting all the assassin's creed games. Oddly enough, there's a few people that do play the single player games. Lots of people were asking for L.A. Noire.
Ah another thing that I completely forgot to mention: The group buys and sells video games pretty much like gamestop does.
