I played jokes on my friends abot this game? Tell me things about it and I won't veiw it as having to deal with 20+ hours of Jack Blacks acting?

its actually pretty alright. Its something like a jack black movie with variety of weapons and the combat is akin to God of war. There are different segments of gameplay where you drive a vehicle,or resurrect a shrine of rock mini game or an rts style battle

i didn't forsee playing through the entire game with jack back voicing a character as fun for the afternoon. this experience is closer to me banging my head against the wall. HARD!

yea, give me a reason to like the game. It's a game based on heavy metal. That's the only reason you and other people need.
I played the demo and it was fun. I might buy it for my brother this Christmas.

For reasons you guys should give Brutal Legend a chance: If you like metal (I mean just like the music not know every metal album that has ever come out) you will like the atmosphere of this game. This is one of those games that the developers actually put love into making. The world is just chockful of imaginative metalness. Tim Schafer has also done an excellent job creating a grand metal mythos for the game. Stuff about how the Titans used to rule the world and as they ascended into the sky and became Metal Gods, left behind instructions about how to make anything related to metal. Hot rods, amps, stages, you name it. Problem is no-one ever figured out the instructions, except Eddie, the roadie from another world.
If you like this opening cinematic then you'll like the rest of the game
Also, regarding Jack Black, he gives an outstanding performance as Eddie Riggs. If you hate Black due to his over flamboyant brand of comedy, fear not. Eddie is a cool headed guy (he's a roadie after all) but he has some of the bests lines I have heard this generation, no exaggeration.

Looks cool...might get it. Pretty awesome that you can choose to censor the game if you want. That way people can't complain about cussing.

The Game seems pretty Sweet to me. I like the Into, It speaks the truth of current rock bands that are out right now!

Played the demo, wasn't that interested in the gameplay. I know there's a bit more to it, but decided to pass on it.

I'm still playing through it right now, but I dig it a lot. Love the voice acting and characters, as well as the stories and all of the collectibles. The fights are also amazingly epic, and the soundtrack fits oh so right.

Hurray! People like Tim Schafer who make original, highly imaginative products should get more attention than gamers usually give them. Here's to a game that doesn't have a number at the end of it!

A lot of people are having difficulty with that part of the game and saying that the controls are underdeveloped. Well, if I can beat the game on normal without the enemy ever touching my stage in any of the stage battles, anyone else can. Seriously, I suck at RTS.

The first war scene was a little bit much for me, but I was able to go through it just fine.

whats the story line and game play likeFor story:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Br%C3%BCtal_Legend
Gameplay is hack and slash (god of war type stuff), light RTS (its really more like controlling a huge squad than an RTS), and driving. Those are the big three and there are more play types in the side missions.
This should give people a good idea of what this game is about:
I thought I started this thread to see who has already played this game... seems like I'm getting a lot more people who have not and are curious. In that case: FREE ADVERTISING FOR BRUTAL LEGEND. Tim Schafer, you owe me one =P
