I think it was either Pac-Man or Space Invaders. I think it was Pac-Man and on one of those tabletop arcades.

Mine was Street Fighter 2.
Those were the days, it was sooo famous back then. The line to the arcade machine was so long. I once did a 10-streak win on the arcade, my inspiration was Daigo Umehara back then, I saw him at a game magazine where he made a 341 Win streak, he was forced to leave because it was getting late.
I had the first version for SNES, that was the first game I owned. The first I played was more then likely Pac-man. I still play Street Fighter 2, and just recently Played the very first Street Fighter.

Mine was Magical Hat flying turbo adventure, the Japanese version of DecapAttack. Because it was all in Japanese, I didn't understand a word of the game, not even the title, but thankfully any dialogue wasn't important and the gameplay and powerups were easy enough to work out. Although I was shit-scared of the powerup that killed all non-boss enemies on-screen, it made the background all wavy.
My half-brother sold his Sega Megadrive and all his games to my parents as he was short on money. Had I known that at the time I probably would've taken better care of it.
