Civilization V

http://www.civilization5.com/
So, Civ V is going to come out this Tuesday. I can't wait for it. I want to see how those changes to the game will work out. For example, the Hexagonal area instead of squares. No more unit stacking. 2 unique units or 1 unique unit and a building... And then cities can actually defend themselves... And more. Seems like it'll be really awesome. There aren't many civilizations or leaders, so I'm a little bummed about that, but I guess we'll just have to wait for an expansion pack or DLC.
Civ IV to Civ V changed!? Look no further!

I had one of the earlier games. After installing it my computer broke. I dont know it it was the game or not. But I did find the game fun, (at the time). But to be honest I prefer games like Age of Empire

I pre-ordered this about a month ago.
But it's not out until next Friday here, so I guess I'll play the demo for 3 days until it comes out.

I used to like Civilization when it was old skool but I feel that ever since Civilization 3 the franchise just took a nose dive.
Civilization 2 on the PS1.. Now THAT was a work of art!! :P (Wish I could buy it on Playstation store)

I'm already bored blah.
Terribly bored. Seems like firaxis is trying to milk civilization's name.
I had ten units and sent them to fight rome, he sent three to counter me and died in one sided battle that i kinda fell asleep after taking his four cities while I had two.

How you get production, food, and wealth still boggles my mind. I think I understand, they city will add one to whatever plot of land you are on, and then double that amount. food eaten by the civilization is taken away from the production of new civ.
But then it gets hazy, I can understand that by having a mine, you increase the amount of production from there, and I guess the city has access to it then. Am I at all correct?

Plains and Hills gives hammers. As well as burning a great engineer to make a manfucatorium something LOL Who would burn a great engineer like that unless all world wonders has been built already.
Apparently in this game, you're not allowed to raze enemy capitols to the ground -.- I wanna burn it all down D=
Nor be a king. So far its pretty damn boring, At least I could be a king in Civ 4 and 3.
The AI seems to be of decent intelligence, arabia tried to invade me with open borders still up, I couldn't figure out where to cancel it so I just fortified the four cities that was newly settled instead. You're talking about the whole wazoo of Fort Improvements being built by workers as the Riflemen protected them. Started during renaissance era where I still had longswordmen right up to infantry.
Arabia wussed out and retreated. I'm still angry about that so I Locked one cavalry of his in my lands permanently its trapped by mountains on one side and infantry on the other side XD
Gonna be testing this one game where I whacked off england with a warrior rush If the happiness/gold problem persists in industrial I'm giving up on civ 5 and going back to civ 4 and playing my old ps2 games.
Oh and, get himeji castle if you guys can, it boosts ur troop effectiveness for free in your borders lol. And plus i like hte wonder movie for it anyways so yeah.

There is bugs, that I know for sure.
And I cannot find where pdf file that's supposed to be located somewhere on my cpu.
And, Capitols of rival nations, you're not allowed to raze them even when you annexed them to get rid of the unhappiness D= And plus, I wanna raze it anyways cuz i'm the fuckin king of subminial mind control.
How dare the developers mess with my fragile little heart. Haven't checked whether if I can raze city states or not. But probably can't cuz they're capitols too lol.
I will say this, even on Prince, happiness is something that magically disappears no matter what, I'm missing five happiness that i'm supposed to have atm. But at least, I'm making 33 gold per turn in the current game i'm playing.
Oh, did I mention the game crashes if you rename your leader and nation? :P Yes that's right it crashed twice in a row when i tried that it goes Loading... Crash!
OH AND YOU HAVE EVEN LESS TEXT SPACE TO NAME YOUR LEADER! My preferred country name was 19 words long, but guess what, the current text box is limited at like 15 words long LOL
Seriously, games today is garbage except for very very few, bring back the 1990s now. Where companies wasn't such a graphic fag.
Only consolation is that I bought the civ 5 for 30 bucks, good thing I bought halo reach at midnight release for the 20 dollar discount xD
The amount of pure fails that shouldn't existed is staggering, they didn't exist while sid meier wasn't retired.
I dislike paid betas.
I want to be a goddamn king, and social policies doesn't exactly allow this, so I don't think I won't be buying expansions at all.
Oh and, Babylon as DLC? Oh please. That's milking the cash cow.
I refuse to pay for babylon dlc or anything that firaxis sells as dlc. They should've been in the game in first place!
Oh and the ego stroking opening movie. Its very hard to skip you have to spam return key to skip the movie.
Oh and the ads, something dunno, its a popup that popups before you plays the civ 5.
Oh and I hate signing into steam just to play civ 5 I hate it.
And I don't give a damn about achievements at all. What does it do, make a victoria's secret model pop into my bedroom? Until then I won't give a damn.
Steam app on my pc's HD is few MB less I could've used for hawt 2d girl pictures. I bought the game why do I have to use steam to play it. Even when I bought it, I wish i didn't buy it.
Edit'd tis post like four times as I remembered each fail i hated in civ 5 lol

I'm impressed with civ5. I was getting bored with the civ series, but this one is so much different. Of course it will probably be too much change for some of you civ fans and you may not like it, that's understandable.
I like the no-stacking. Makes battles feel more tactical and makes you use your head a bit more rather than send a large stack of units at a city. Wars, in my opinion, are more fun now. The game is very appealing to the eye, it looks very nice, and has graphic settings that even push my decent machine to it's limit. I'll have to play a bit more to form a better opinion, but so far it's looking good.
Callonia obviously has major problems with Civ5, none of which are an issue for me. Except for DLC, are they releasing some already? I hate that.
My only issue with the game is that I can't find details on what a 'pact of cooperation' does. If I'm going to be faced with this question in the middle of a game, tell me what it is or at least let me ask my advisers. It's like this:
"Would you like to join in a pact of cooperation?" Answer yes or no, and you must answer to leave the screen.
Once I know what it is, it won't be a problem anymore.

I really love this game myself. I know of two bugs in this game, but yeah...
I like the strategy aspect of it. It's a little slower to play, but gold plays a bigger importance to the game. I do like how Culture works in this game too.
I don't know what Callonia does, but I easily have enough happiness throughout my reign. There are times when I might not... Like annexing cities and stuff, but otherwise, I do fine. It's nice that Golden Ages happen because of Happiness. That's quite interesting.
And, no unit stacking is really great. War plays differently now. It's actually good to build artillery units instead of stacking 500 units. Not to mention... It's best to surround a city when trying to attack it. I still don't like getting nuked... =< Would be nice if bombers did more damage to armored units and ships....
Iono. Overall, I really like the game. It's nice to play online. I don't like going halfway through that opening scene before I can skip it...

You don't have to buy it to play it. There is a demo on steam that will let you play for 100 turns. Gives you a good feel for the game.
