I wonder what kind of elements will play a role in combat (special abilities, fleet positioning, spatial anomalies) besides the most obvious "numbers and heaviest guns".

It is supposed to be tactically 'as good or better' than Sengoku Rance, hopefully the handicap would be there.

I think the formation, is somewhat like a defense line to protect the planet. and it looks like by blowing up 2 fleets is enough to invade the planet. It's just makes things invading easier.
So, it's ok to annihilate all fleets, since it seems you get them anyways.
Well, let's just see when the product is released.

Well, let's just see when the product is released.
Well the objective is to obtain stars, kind of like S.Rance's war meter, with at least 8 stars needed to launch an invasion. Stars are distributed amongst sections (or in case of that battle, everything was in one section) and you get X amount depending on how much you damage the opposing fleet. In the screenshot AliceSoft used during an attack on Gamerica, there were 14 stars on the field.
If you look carefully, they actually killed off all three enemy fleets, and got the full 10 stars since there's nothing left.
Well at least that's what I interpreted from reading the site.

I'm not sure if I'm up for this game.
WWII was not a fun time, and this is being done by Japanese people.
It might be racist, but I don't want to team up with Nazis. I feel this is entirely justified unless they waaay cut back on just how horrible the Nazis were.

Lol, this is not about a World War 2. There's no mention of World War 2 in the official synopsis. The OP post said it was a WWII recreation because there was no synopsis at that moment.
Years before the Universe was United, small Human fractions dotted parts of the vast Universe. Individual States were established and navigating to other areas of the Solar system required a few hundred years. Contact with other countries was virtually impossible.

The National Eris Empire Council is the worlds largest empire able to restore the world order and suppress chaos.
Imperial Japan was the world's oldest nation, and worn out during the prolonged war with the Chinese empire, it is the largest one being targeted.
And if you don't like the "Germans" that much you can just kill them all, and don't let one of them join. And seriously ther are no "Nazis" in this games.. it's just Germans...to be spesific [

I had problems with the idea that this was 'WWII in Space', which it seemed like, and what that would mean.
If you want to get uppity and defensive and bitchy as all hell over a game that hasn't even come out yet, you need to calm down.
It sets a bad example and shows you don't want to correct mistakes, but rather beat people over the head with them for being so stupid as to make them.

I'm perfectly calm, but noting that you have blown what I said way out of proportion to the point of ridiculous. I indicated it seemed to be odd to have a Japanese Game focused on WWII. You gave me information that it wasn't. Then, you insulted me for not being correct. I pointed out that the insults were not necessary. You decide to once more to go back to the Space Germans and my Incorrect conclusion.
