I don't like to just quote something without adding my "personal touch" to the thread, but...

Am I the only one that has no sway with EA? I mean I hate all of their shitty sports games they manage to spew out every year, but other than that I don't have anything against them. Tits, huh? Hey, it's a good market strategy. I don't want to contemplate how many units of Mass Effect were sold simply because the sex scene (if you can call it that) was leaked out before hand and feature in the news. Sales are sales, they don't care what a handful of normal or hardcore gamers think of this otherwise grotesque addition. Haven't you heard? There is no such thing as bad publicity. The fact that Wired mentioned this, is will guarantee to move extra sales of the game. EA may be a lot of things, but they are certainly not stupid.

Yeah, but we are gamers and most of us couldn't care less what EA does. In the end, we're the one getting screwed here. Why should game companies dictate how we buy our games? Its our money and we buy our stuff how we want.
Also, this could lead to worse stuff. For example, what if they suddenly start charging gamers for final missions and endings if they don't buy the game new? Would you think that's fair for us? Paying extra for shit that's already on the disc in the first place is unfair. This kind of stuff wouldn't be accepted in other forms of media.
And people wonder why most people don't take video gaming seriously.

That is rather sad. It's another one of those stupid promotion things to get people to buy it new, so that they get more money.
This shows a lack of respect to gamers. Gamers should be able to experience any game in it's entirety whether or not they bought it first or second hand. Although I do believe that some DLC's are worth paying extra. Ones that actually add to the game. But shit like this where you only get to see a few pixel boobies? Bullshit. It doesn't add anything at all. DLC's like Warden's Keep and Broken Steel from Dragon Age and Fallout 3 does add to the game. New weapons, items and several more hours of gameplay. But for $5, all you get is a nude switch and a virtual lapdance. It's a waste of money. It should've been in the game to start with.

Deny it all you want, but sex is a good marketing strategy - it creates a profit for those that need an income, and it pleases anyone who'd like to see some boobs in their game.
I don't hold too much against EA, despite some choices they may have made - it's Activision that I despise.

No, just Activision. The dev doesn't have as much power as the publisher.

EA must think to themselves...okay we cut off Pandemic, this is their last game, might as well throw in a Nude Code, they're all laid off anyways it's not as if it's going to get them fired, DURP DURP.

I beg to differ, Infinity Ward had more than enough money to separate from Activison and brand modern warfare as their own IP. But instead they decide to suck on Bobby Kotick's dick instead. Fuck Infinity Ward.

Heh. I'm no great fan of EA either, but that's essentially because it's a big business that has to operate in a certain way. When you consider the inroads they made in gaming as a whole through the early years, the way they have (at least in the past) promoted developers, the studios that they have acquired and nurtured - Looking Glass (System Shock, Thief), Peter Molyneaux's Bullfrog (Populous, the Theme franchise, Dungeon Keeper) and Lionhead (Black and White, Fable), Westwood (C&C and Dune franchises), Bioware (Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, KOTOR, Jade Empire, Mass Effect), Maxis (Sim franchise), Pandemic (Mercenaries, SW: Battlefront), Harmonix (Guitar Hero, Rock Band), Criterion (Burnout franchise) - and games they have created like Mirror's Edge, the Battlefield series and the (now) excellent FIFA series...they don't look so bad.
