Deep sense of loss after finishing VN
0
I... always feel like I just lost something precious whenever I finish a VN or Anime. I am scared to finish this VN, since it seems to be almost over. I am absolutely sure other people have felt this desire for the story to continue. How do I fill this hole in my heart?

The thing you lose most when playing VNs is time. It's prolly just your thoughts gone wild. I enjoy Vns and play it in a regular pace, 4-5 times a week.
If you ever need advice for good ones, fakku has tons to offer. Or perhapes you can just pm me for advice, and i gladly offer you a summary of my favourites. :)

I get that sometimes. Whenever I finish a great game, like Tales of The Abyss! I was like "FUCK YEAH!" then I was like "Fuck..." THEN! I played .Hack//G.U.! Same thing happened... The only advice I can give you is, just keep playing/watching good shit.

This sese of loss doesn't only apply to VN's but to awesome animes, games and movies as well.
Ahh, I remember when I played F/SN, Utawarerumono and Planetarian.
Like they said, move on to the next best thing. But if you still can't satisfy the need, why not read a few fanfictions of it? The possibilities of how every story ends can be changed through fiction

Dude 2 ways to handle the loss... Keep reliving the games/Anime/manga's awesomeness and stay or Move on with an occasional return to and revilement of the awesome games you have gone thuru...

Keep on moving, keep on moving.^This, pretty much the only thing you can do.
Personally I tend to be astonished by the amount of time I spend playing a game or watching anime, and just walk around being restless not knowing what to do with the time I usually spend doing that. But I know that sense of loss too... Especially if it's something you but a great amount of time into.

Yeah.. Especially if the ending is death, separation, or marriage... Plus, if the VN is top notch, I'm usually in it's trance for months..

Curious and Wondering
Well, if you invested too much feelings and emotions into the game, it's pretty much guaranteed you'll feel a deep sense of loss. I do play VNs, but I keep my personal investment to a minimum so as to save me the trouble of feeling that loss.
Play, enjoy, finish, move on.

Bro I fell you. My two biggest impacts happened to me when I finished reading F/SN, and when I finished Code Geass(though I was feeling a bunch of other things when I finished it).
I guess we just become so tied up in the characters and fantasy they live that we feel sad when w have to depart forever, unless there is a sequel or something of the sort.
Only thing you can do is move on or re-watch. Though I don't recommend re-watching right after you've finished your first watching, takes away the magic.

But, if you don't ever finish your VN, you'll get that craze inside of you saying, 'Just watch it!', and, 'I want to see what happens to X and Y!', and you wake up in the middle of the night fantasising about what might happen, yet, without ever knowing what will happen.

Some of us do feel a sense of loss after completing certain games, novels, anime, etc. However, if it is any consolation, the wonderful memories brought about by these various titles will always remain with us.

It's a good thing that you feel empty I'll say. Goes to show that you thoroughly enjoyed the VN/anime/game. You absorbed what it had to offer to the fullest, got emotionally attached and enjoyed it~ All good things must end but the satisfaction you gained lasts lifelong (ok for a couple months realistically).
I believe that the makers have the same intent in mind while delivering it to us.
Bask in the melancholy for a few days, and pick up another good VN/anime/etcand move on. Ofc if you feel like it watch/play it all over again (but not too soon).
