did anyone ever play silent hill

Played them all up to 4 but after that the franchise fell apart with sub par spin offs
Part 4 was not bad had a nice horror variety when it came to level layouts
Part 2 is still best of the series though without a doubt
I hope they make it available for download some day on PS3/360
I would not mind playing it again ^_^

Unlock the door to the first house, then go out the backyard, which leads to the school. The whole place became dark and you couldn't see anything beyone your flashlight's range and there was this huge growling sound in the distance. I shut off the psone back then. That was like...10 years ago..lol.

I love Silent Hill 2. For me it's the best among the series thanks to its good story telling and atmosphere. Compared to other Silent Hills, Silent Hill 2 really makes you feel alone and it's really eery SILENT. While in the newest silent hill it's all too noisy in most levels and the main character didn't seem to have a soul on his own.

Old Jenkins the reason James see's abstract daddy as a monster while Angela sees it as her dad is because

at that point both of James and Angela's otherworlds overlapped(Its why the room you fight abstract daddy in isn't on the map.

The reason the characters keep meeting are because at specific times or because silent hill deems it their otherworlds keep coming together and the only one who isn't real out of all of them is maria althought all the characters tend to have a fold to James and the choices he can make and through some clues you can figure out what everyone's other world is like.
Powerful emotions are what take you through crazy silent hill as without it they would just be in the normal version of silent hill.

James: you play as him so you should know. His main powerful emotion is Guilt.

Laura: her silent hill has no monsters as Laura hasn't went through any deep trauma but her version of silent hill manifests itself through her loneliness.
Her silent hill is a foggy yet empty town.

Eddie: His silent hill is filled with his own version of monsters that resemble people who make fun of him. His silent hill is built off his powerful yet buried rage.

Angela: Her's has the least clues and is the hardest to know what it is.
Her emotion is her desire to escape and the ultimate escape is death.
as for her monsters I always figured its just monsters that resemble her dad chasing her.

The monsters were created by Alessa the half that wants to keep the god from being born.

Harry ended up in the nightmare silent hill because of his powerful emotion to find and protect his daughter. Alessa thinks harry is a threat and tries to kill him while his daughter cheryl tries to help him(Leaves him ammo, leaves hints for puzzles and bosses). Heck if anything harry is the least amount of screwed up in silent hill(Just a guy trying to save his daughter).

The reason Alessa figures him for a threat is because unknowingly to harry her mother manipulates him into thinking Alessa is evil and wants to destroy the world and has his daughter prisoner.

Who's Cybil ....?


There's alot of theories and even a play novel released around cybils origins.
Spoiler:

cybil is a real cop from brahms(a town near silent hill sent to investigate the drug trade(white claudia is the drug). Some say that in the beginning when you see cybils bike in the opening fmv that she crashed her bike and now she wanders silent hill unaware of her death and one of the play novels endings supports while some follow the black queen pawn theory. the theory is that cybil died and because of that she is bound to the underworld and that Alessa's mother uses her as a pawn to help and guide harry like Alessa her daughter used lisa the nurse for and once Dhaila didn't need her anymore as well as harry she tried to have cybil kill harry.
