Ok so i have owned most consoles but currently just have a xbox360. Is it just me or is the shit (current games) that gets released for game systems today so monotonous and repetitive that the actual console spends more time in the box in the cupboard than it does plugged in? Please post your opinions and if your love of gaming has died away due to peoples need for GRAPHICS over story. I think the only decent games I can ACTUALLY remember having a good time playing in the last 10 odd years were Mirrors Edge, Shenmue series and StreetFighter. Everything else doesn't hold my attention for more than a day...

They're actually boring me now. Sure i love playing games but they bore me now. Only some games can get me hooked such as "Uncharted" and "Gran Turismo". Really good games that i can enjoy. Old school arcade games are better. All i can say is i'm out growing video games now but that doesn't mean i'm going to stop. They're just not going to get all of my attention anymore. Some video games today are copypasta from one another.

My love of gaming is starting to die because of DLC that should be in a game when you buy it not as a code that comes with the game.
I am also loosing interest because I also have too many games that a game bought can easily be forgotten about and I never get round to playing it because my interest in other games has grown to large to keep up with.
Shops kill a lot of the joy I used to get when I bought a game they don't do any good offers like they used to and there are the odd games that have been out for over a year that are still at full price. The amount of used games bugs me as well about 90% of the games are used they often blur that it is used and make it look new by not saying it's preowned and at full price.

Games have always been a big part of my life, and I don't really see myself slowing down.
There really isn't any more awful games out there than previously, it is just the horrible attitude the gaming industry has as a whole coupled with a big sequel syndrome due to developers and publishers not wanting to take gambles right now.

I like playing video games but not the games that seems to be always the same. I look for single player games cause they have more story.

While I don't buy as many games as I did before, It's probably because I make sure that I actually want a game before I buy it, instead of impulse buying. I probably wouldn't even keep playing games if I didn't have so many friends on xbox live.

It depends on the genre, I think. As a gamer whose main tastes are fighters and adventure/hack and slash type games and RPGs since the PS1 era and now a PS3 owner, it's rather sad that people would go more nuts over a generic series for shooters than really testing your skills against competition against other players or improving your own when doing combo trials. The only thing that holds my gaming interests these days is accomplishing trophy achievements for games in my collection before taking a break, right now, I'm in the midst of completing Street Fighter 4 that I had for over a year by just taking on the hard Trials with only 15 of them remaining for another Platinum.
What I'm saying is, basically, there had been a lot of good games back in the PS1/PS2 days that were way ahead of their time, and were able to draw a crowd, but compared to some of the few notable titles on current next gen titles that held my gaming strong, we rarely see those types any more and I think its early to say that gaming has lost its tastes. But at least I can relive my gaming days when the HD collections for games such as ZOE and Devil May Cry comes out next year. It will be a looong way before I call gaming quits.

My gaming passion isnt dying anytime soon since old gen games are still better than most games being released now. I'll continue gaming until all games become DD only or they cost over 80$.

I still LOVE games, but age and responsibility and social obligations means i dont get to devote time as much as i use to when i was a kid i went through ff7 by all rights a 50 hour or so game like 5 times i would start a game over just for the hell of it, but now im lucky if i can get 1 playthrough but games still cosume most of my time.

Well thats pretty much why I buy games that I know I can at least enjoy for a while or at least but know I'll pick up again at some point.

Okay. I also had most of the consoles. (Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PC, PSP.) but the ones that doesn't belong to me are the Wii and the PS3. (I could go and play the PS3 as I like. But I do not care about the Wii)
And to answer your question: I truly agree with you. I used to be all over games. I would always check the net for new games then go to the stores to see their price. But now I only care about the series I liked because most of the games these days are only shooting game without a good story. or an acceptable story without the fun of gaming.
the only series that I liked are. Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, Pokemon, Fable...... I guess that is it.

I have been trying very hard to finish a console game but I haven't been able to in a really long time ^ ^;;
It is not that the game is uninteresting but that I have learned to like online games so much I feel lonely when I am playing alone.

There's enough good games to get past the fact that there's alot of shit being released.Yay. This^
Every so often, people say the same about movies. "I don't like movies, they are all crap nowadays." It isn't that all movies suddenly suck, it is just you aren't watching good movies, or catching up on good movies you missed in the past.
