Where should I start this…
During this short 2 months ever since I’ve acquired fiber optics internet upgrades, I’ve being committing myself to uploading visual novels to Fakku. I hold a personal obligation to start uploading games myself due to this site being where I first started a visual novel myself, thus… this to me is somewhat a return of favour of sorts. Thus far, I’ve uploaded 13 games with more in my intention to do so.
In this one month however I’ve found myself to have become quite ill tempered, or easily irritated by a few factors causing me to sometimes to be just plain mean, factors which I seek to know the opinions from you guys. Hopefully the answers would be able enlighten me and aid me in growing more mature.
This first of them being…
Honestly? No. It’s like me cooking you a sunny side up and instead being told that you’d want your eggs scrambled. I don't know if it's just me at fault here, for as far as i know, we have an cg set section, failing so, cg sets isn't the holy grail, finding it wouldn't take more than half an hour.
Second factor, Repeated ignorance.
Newcomers aside, acts of ignorance was something that always bothered me even since before. Is it truly hard to flip through the pages to seek if there's a person with the same issue with his problem explained? Or perhapes will it break a bone to check sites like vndb that uploads usually provide for those little info like translation projects?
Third factor, A simple thank you.
This is my motivation. Thank-you. Two simple words that keeps me vigilant to when games that caught my attention and their release dates. Even though i don't really want to admit it, reputation score does a play part for my motivation too. It's just something that makes me feel good about myself.
this is not a rant about the lack of "thank you"s but an appreciation to those that did, thank you. Thank you for motivating me to keep on uploading, i know that the upload section in fakku is pretty dead now, but i do hope that new uploaders would surface to bring the clockwork to full function.
So... that's basically it.
Am i being an elitist? How should i change? Must i change? Please, i seek the opinion from all of you. Your comments counts.

Can you please give a link for the cgs?

think of it this way: those who know better than to ask stupid questions wouldnt ask stupid questions. what is left are those who are either new, too lazy to find shit by themselves, or just plain stupid(<-HADI)
then again, fakku really isnt a place where those who play eroge gather. how many downloads do you get for your non-translated games anyway? as such, cg sets will be the next best thing on your audiences' minds since they have no plans on reading the game anyways.

Sites like anime-sharing has already their share of population, fakku is like a farmland, poor soil but still usuable with some adjustments. It's a responsibility of sorts to breed future-to-be eroge forums if cases like hongfire would to surface again.
My links are on the average of 20-500 downloads. Somehow, games that i upload for the heck of it like Dracu-riot seems to be more popular than those that i stalk for (mahou tsukai). Weird.

Most people are turned away by the huge download size (or using torrents instead) and the 15+ tag I suppose. As for the ignorant people, just ignore them. You can follow girlcelly as a role model.

Like it has already been said, there will always be users that just make stupid questions so the best you can do is to try to ignore them or if you feel like it, point them in the right direction and preach them a bit (though it'll probably be ignored). In the case of technical support the same if they just say something like "Help me! I can't play because of a error!". Unfortunately, these kind of situations are out of our hands to control. Many people lack proactivity and that's something bad.
About a thank you or some rep, well, many people just do it (download) and forget everything else. Unfortunately, that's other thing that we can't control with the current system that Fakku! uses so don't let that demotive yourself. There's always someone that at least appreciates your upload and contribuition to Fakku! though they might not show it.
Also, from my experience with the uploads, the games that have more downloads divide in some categories being:
- Their popularity / rating
- H-content
- Being translated
- Recently released
It's a real pity that some great games like Higurashi and Umineko don't even reach 100 downloads. I understand for Higurashi since it was released a long time ago but Umineko...
This just shows that the majority of users around here are more interested in the h-content instead of the story itself though there might be other type of criteria used to select the games.
Well, don't let yourself be discouraged even without that much thanks or rep to continue uploading and as for other ignorant users, at least try to ignore them. They'll eventually learn and be sorry for themselves.

kya~~~
It's an uploader who didn't get enough lurrve
Alright, well I for one, still go through Fakku for VNs and I fully appreciate people like klown, amorim, and hiroyuki for their efforts.
I myself have no clue how to do things like these, and even though there are sources like vndb out there, I can come to fakku to view other things such as the fakku community's input and comments as well as sample pictures that weren't on vndb etc. etc. etc.
You do raise a point though, I can't bring myself to play a VN unless it's translated, and I am also guilty for not trying out VNs just because of lack of H-content, but what can I say, I'm a horny bastard who needs those extra sprinkles/icing.
CG sets are stupid though, if you just want some pretty pictures you can get those anywhere, really.
Anyhow, tldr; I still use the fakku uploads and I appreciate the efforts the uploaders put in.

Really I think it all comes down to one simple point really. Effort. Some want to put effort into the games/VN's they play and some don't. Those that do not want to put in the effort are the ones that are going to ask the stupid questions, want full cg files, etc. They are also the ones that are least likely to give thanks to those that expend the effort to help them. Just remember that there are those out there that do appreciate your effort. I know it can be frustrating but the internet is what it is. And for all those that don't appreciate or care......

I don't have too much of an issue with people asking for CG packs, but that's probably because I haven't been asked very much. What really annoys me is the repeated ignorance. Even with newcomers to the board... I continuously see questions that are easily answered if they bothered to read the FAQs and Tutorials. We have a FAQs and Tutorials stickied for a reason. I'm not sure how it is with others, but to me, it just seems like common etiquette to read through, or at least check out, the important stickied threads like the Section Rules. I don't mind if people don't say thank you. Of course, it's nice, and even nicer to get rep, but for me, it feels good to give something back to the community. However, I do understand where you are coming from.
I remember a time when I was more interested in the H content of a VN rather than the story. I don't know when, but it seems that I've moved on from that. It might just be one of the those changes that happened after playing so many VNs. But it does disappoint me a little knowing that people actively seek out VNs just for the H content.
H content aside, I do see why VNs that are popular, have good ratings, or are translated (or being translated) have a lot more downloads. Like myself, I'm not fluent enough in Japanese to play a VN in its native language. I actively look for VNs that are translated or in the process of being translated more so than ones that aren't. Popularity/ratings wise, it's generally true that VNs that have good ratings tend to be good themselves.
And now I feel like I'm just rambling so I'll stop here.

Your input is greatly appreciated. It's very comforting that there are people who sees things my way, even if one is but a casual browser to this sections of the forum should not look away from it's foundations.
I'm pretty blessed myself that i can choose between Chinese,English and non-translated visual novels. It could've being because of my pride as a Type-B anime fan, I've never truly played a nukige eroge. My debut vn was Shuffle!.
As for the hcgs... I do collect them in the past, Hell... it was one of my ways to judge the artwork of the game itself before ultimately deciding if i'd to download it.
