It's written by the same guy who wrote Ever17. So, automatically I also "invested" most of my time playing and getting all the endings. :DSo, if you claim you're a fan of Ever17, better play 999 ASAP. lol
I would, but I don't have a DS anymore...

Hey I tried this VN but to be honest I don’t get why like it is so loved. I didn’t read much but I think it is full of contradictions and I can’t stand that. I just stopped when everyone gather and meet after the incident. I enjoyed the introduction but then the one supposed to be a kid begin to talk and act like a man, he even uses technical terms and stuffs... The others don’t seem to care about what happened as they keep smiling and a lot of their discussions are off the line.
Yeah the characters’s reactions are not realistic and it’s bothering me since they’re supposed to be trapped. So I’m disappointed and I don’t understand this VN.

Trying to understand what's going on in Ever17's complex plot after playing like 10 minutes?

Let me just say that you literally don't know anything about anything yet, so your opinion of this game is worthless as it is now. Maybe there's a reason for those "contradictions".

Hmm well maybe. Tho I think it could be a bit more subtile. Maybe the revelations are interesting but I can't read something that annoy me just to enjoy the end. A good story is a story well balanced, not just the climax.

In fact I played more than 10 minutes, like 1h30, maybe because I'm slow.
Sorry for replying so late, well I was just disapointed. I was expecting something else and I hated the characters.
That's probably because I expected too much for one considered the best. I liked Narcissu and Devil on G-String a lot more.
When I said not well-balanced, I meant that the ending may be is extra as you all say, but I didnt like the VN so far and I couldnt continue.

Well, having high expectations leads many times to disappointment depending on what you like. However, even reading 1h30 is not enough to judge this VN or any other as a whole. But that's your choice. There's a reason why the game is so highly rated.

Until you've finished atleast one route all your complaints are null and void as far as im concerned, and even one route isn't enough if you ask me, as it's basically just 1/5 of the story.

Just finished all the paths. The true ending was pretty good but I don't think it was anything amazing. I understand that most of the routes add to the true ending but except for the climax everything is pretty damn dull.

Found out today, that Ever17 came out with a Xbox 360 version.

I find that really neat that they re-released this VN for consoles. Might have to pick this up.

If anyone wants to know how the story develops in the remake version, GundamAce AKA the translator of Never7 and Ever17 Drama CD's, is posting it's content while he's playing it. Check here.
Note that what he is posting contain spoilers so you better read until the end the original PC version first.
