Ever stayed home from school/work to play a new video game?

In fact, I'm making this thread because I stayed home today to play LOST PLANET 2.
I'm just waiting for GameStop to open :P

Have you guys and girls ever stayed home to play a video game? When? What game? Any funny stories? What was your excuse? Blah blah blah [size=10]blah blah blah....[/h]

I did it only once. I skipped work for two days to play Zone of the Ender the 2nd Runner. I bought the game at the beginning of the weekend to have some time to play it, but in the end, i didn't find the time. So i said i was sick and took a free day on Monday. But my punishment was i really caught a cold the next day... But that also gave me two other days to play ;)

I'm doin it right now, but it's for a grater cause!

I've done it a couple of times in high school. I'd always tell my parents that I was sick, my mother believed me, but my dad always knew what was going on. He ran with it though as long as it only happened a couple of times a year.

I wish. If I would've done that my games would've been taken away for a semester, regardless of how good my grades were.

I used to do that all the time... (but my parents never gave me shit because I always got good grades without doing anything anyway)

Mainly when a new Tales of was hitting Japanese stores, I usually got a preorder with super fast shipping which cost me like 20 bucks extra lol.

Last time I did that was with the release of Persona 4, but I got the US version instead.

Don't think I ever have, I've rarely been able to have a choice on the matter. Although I did skip a day from college to continue playing Bioshock 2, I couldn't bring myself a day without it.

I cut for one fucking week once because of World of Warcraft.

I dunno about waiting in front of a gamestop... but yea i have many times. I'd go over my friends house an hour away to play GTA, Call of Duty, and FF12 to skip class a year ago. Now i got a 360 and a gamefly subscription heh.

Did this when Hon First arrived. that was the coolest 2 weeks of my Junior life.

I haven't, but I almost got my roommate fired once. I was playing Final Fantasy 9, doing the boss battle, and he was watching. He knew he had to be at work in a few minutes, but once I beat the guy he stuck around to watch the ending. That ending is long. Once it was over he yelled at me for making him late and rushed out the door. Heh, he got written up, I laughed.
