Ever stayed home from school/work to play a new video game?

I haven't, but I almost got my roommate fired once. I was playing Final Fantasy 9, doing the boss battle, and he was watching. He knew he had to be at work in a few minutes, but once I beat the guy he stuck around to watch the ending. That ending is long. Once it was over he yelled at me for making him late and rushed out the door. Heh, he got written up, I laughed.O_o wow FF9, that brings back memories... the ending boss battle kinda felt lopsided...
Spoiler:
The ending was alright, long yea, but sweet i guess. I would have preferred an epilogue where they told the "life goes on" or "life after" details. That way i wouldn't have wondered "then what?". Nice game overall.

Back when I was in High School, my mom never bothered if I ever skipped like 1-2 days of school every 2 months or so as long as I get good grades. Amazing thing is, she'd even draw up for me an excuse letter saying I was sick or visited a relative and etc.
I won't do this on 1st Year (I must make an impression) so yeah, I plan to repeat this on 2nd Year College.

Hopefully I won't get in trouble for this.
But yes, back in high school, I did that once. It was when PSO Ver.2 came out, which was September 21, 2001 I bought my copy the first day it was released, but I could not really enjoy it because we had a assload of tests during that week, and people still freaking out about 9/11. But come that Friday, and testing was over, I convinced my mom not to make me go, because I had a massive headache that would not go away. But that was a lie, and she let me stay home.
Between that Friday and Sunday, the only time I would leave my room was to go to the bathroom, or eat. I had made sure that I got my chores done early. Sleep was also nonexistent that weekend.

Hmm now that I think about it I don't think that I've ever stayed home from school just to play a game. I have however told my friends not to bother me if I'm playing a new game with a story I'm interested in. The most recent example being FFXIII.

Yeah a couple times but it was always on days where I knew I could afford to miss the class anyway and really it was more like I knew I could miss the next day so stayed up late playing the game and then ended up waking up somewhere between the middle of when my class would be to way after it.

when Halo 2 came out, i actually got to stay home and play it all day as a reward for doing good in school. of course as soon as that day passed i stopped doing good in school cause i no longer had a reason to. =P

I only did this with WoW waaayyy back when I thought it was worth spending the money on a subscribed game. Missed 3 days of school.
Was it worth it at the time? yeah.
Now that I think about it? Yeah.
