What's your favorite type of weapon to use in a RPG?

Chain lightning all the way muhahaha, but seriously, I prefer bladed weapon so can't really specify type of weapon I like. BTW you forgot weapon such as nunchuks with scythe blade on each end :D (Vigorian Flayl from ninja gaiden teehee).

Actually I hate the Sith Lord "chain lightning", doesn't look as good as the WoW version of it.

Swords...their the cliche of RPG characters. Its rare to see an rpg without one.like super rare. I'm Guessing most people just like hacking it up close and personal with a badass cleaver rather than with something else.

It depends. As long as it doesn't suck in a game, I prefer ranged weapons.

BAH! Im an Archer all the way. Just give me a bow and some arrows, a nice open area, and lots of stupid enemeis and Ill Amuse my self for a LOOOOOONNNGNGGG time. Main reason why I loved Oblivion so much.

Swords have always been my favorite preferably the dual swordsmen like Lloyd Irving from Tales of Symphonia but single handed swordsmen like the heroes in almost every other Tales games is also accepted.

OT:Meh no daggers? fine then swords, I follow the strategem that its better to inflict a flurry of small hits and gaining momentum then risking time with a large slow hit that if missed is catastrophically dooming.

Awww, throwing weapons ain't gettin' no love.
I like to use a bow if it's a viable option because using a longbow to kill people before they even know you're there is just badass in my opinion.

I chose musical instrument because mainly I'm a musical person. . . and ARTONELICO is awesome !!

Shouldn't people be getting tired of swords/katanas by now? Worries me how popular they are - why all that effort when today we can just shoot a man to death?

You cannot go wrong with a sword, usually does the best damage for the lowest amount of effort ( no need to restock or use mp) though I like to use bows though they tend to do less damage.
