FINAL FANTASY XIII AGITO IS BEING CANCELLED???

LOL @ my lame title. anyways, just as the title says, there is a rumor about FFXIII Agito for the PSP being cancelled due to Square Enix's ridiculously huge debt of 2billion yen (hint - FFXIV)

So, i was wondering what you guys think?

They are a rival company sooo... In someways I am sad, but in other ways... nah I would be just kinda sad if that happened. Too bad they made a subpar MMO that hurt their bottom line.

I'd say the chances of them canceling anything are pretty slim. If anything, it will just get postponed. However, I would believe that what they would do is take staff working on FFXIII Versus and move them over to work on Agito so they can push that game out faster and recoup some losses.

The only way Agito will get postponed though is if Mr. Tetsuya Nomura has enough sway in the company to not let this happen since I'm sure he doesn't want workers working on projects other than his own. Also, FFXIII Versus has a debut coming up next month which may have caused a shift in focus from Agito to Versus - something which may have caused people to question whether Agito was being abandoned. However, all along SquareEnix's plan has been to have 3 games under one mythos and I doubt they are going to abandon that now.

Better use the money they planned for Agito on versus XIII 8).

Sure hope it's not canceled, there's hardly any decent games left for PSP.

But they sure did fuck up big time with FFXIV. Hope they don't fuck XIII Versus and Agito up.

I bet they probably will. Just like they did with FF 12,13.

I really hope they don't postpone or cancel Agito, Im more hyped about it than Versus!

Versus will be a wonderful game. Many thought at the time it was announced that Versus would be the best game out of the three. It has a fantastic man behind the game and it's style is going to be reminiscent of FFVII and FFVIII. Also, unlike 12 and 13 there will be a proper love story. That is something which, no matter how you feel about love stories, is traditionally a big part of Final Fantasy games.

Agito looks nice, Versus... I have my Doubts.
I saw a snippet of gameplay in a mix trailer, Looks like one of those games where Your always in a deserted Town (More like I am Legend) or some meadow with nothing around. Also looks kind of boring.
FF13 wasn't bad, boring ass gameplay but the visuals kept me going.

I won't be surprised if this was cancelled, Square Enix hasn't been providing "A" Games lately, mainly with the Fantasy Series.

Sigh, that's a pity. Agito was something I thought would be cool but they way SE are going now hasn't really got my hopes up. Guess it's time to go back to 7,8,9 and 10 and relive the good times.

damm so much debt..........why must it be this way, 14 is not that bad it's just people are freaken chickens but I have to agree another mmo. damm why can't stop sucking and put some effort in to FF as they do in DQ!!! TT_TT I like the number 13 but I am sick of hearing it off of SE.

yeah they might cancel it because it can be pirate in the same release day and thats not what they want to..

That's not why a game would be canceled, Many games got pirated the same day they were released, but they know that's just a niche market. So they'll keep on releasing.

The problem here lies on the Fail of FF 14.
Basically speaking they don't have the budget to continue production if FF 14 keeps on failing.

Maybe this is the last for Square Enix lololol.

Looking from demo alone FFXIV looks pretty shitty compared to Korean MMO nowadays. And with Cataclysm released SE gonna lose big time in NA and EU market. I don't know why, with XIII gained decent popularity and so much people anticipating Versus the last thing SE need is to waste big bucks on developing a MMO with little story and almost no hype. Worst move ever done by SE.
And now they're on debt, no wonder. That's what you get from being too greedy.

Squeenix puts too much efforts in developing game and forgot the basic :/
they wasted a lot of money at fail games..

If they didnt try to save FFXIV so many times their debt wouldn't be 2 Billion. Maybe around 1.2B but that's still a lot to pay off.

No I'm not predicting the future - that means that I foresee Versus being a good game.

What I am doing is commanding the future. It exist because I allow it, it will be wonderful because I demand it.

Ahhhh, if only that were true. Let's hope Square Enix can bounce back from the horror that is FFXIV.
