Forza: Horizon (360)

So, this game comes out here in roughly 5 hours.
From the trailers, it's looking like it'll be interesting. Open road racing instead of track racing, all based around a music festival.
I'm thinking it'll make for a good online experience, but offline may be a bit boring... Shall see.

Night and day time, offroad racing, free roaming in a pretty much sandbox area


And the usual forza awesome of great customisation (I hope) in both looks and performance. I do love drifting my honda civic on 4 ;D
It's based off the forza 4 engine, so physics will be good, which makes me happy.

Anybody else buying it? and what is your opinion thus far?
I'm thinking it SHOULD be great, but there is a possibility it'll be bad. Then again, It can't be worst than need for speed shift.

Seems Like a different version of Motorstorm.

Different in that it's road cars, on the road, with modification to engines and wheels and bodykits, based on a festival instead of an appocolypse and or just general derby things... So, nothing like motorstorm? Only thing similar would be cars :| (having said that, I've only played the first one)

Either way, was going to get it yesterday, but the games I was trading in didn't get me as much as expected (plus I had more to pay off than I thought, too)
I'll get it tomorrow, when I've been paid. I'm pretty keen :D

I liked everything about this game (and my dad, being a classic VW Beetle fan, was speechless seeing that there's an actual classic VW Beetle in the game), but I have Need For Speed: Most Wanted in pre-order.
Also, my funds are a bit short for the moment, so I'll need to wait until "El Buen Fin" (some states of Mexico's version of Black Friday) to get it.
Either way, I've never played a Forza game before (2 and 3 are nowhere in sight and 4 is still too damn expensive), but I'm already sure that I'll give this one a try.

I was talking about the whole festival thing. It's similar to how Motorstorm did it.

Mount fuji? Mount akina? Apparently there are speed humps all down those mountain passes now :(

Really wish ps3 had This game. back when I hdd a 360 Forza 4 blew my mind. Gran Turismo just doesn't cut it.

Finally got it... It's awesome! :o
My only issue with it is the lack of tuning... You can't tune your cars, which makes me sad :( But meh, it's still decent other than that. Have yet to drift like a champ, but will see how we go

But can you still buy tiers of parts (you just can't fine tune it)? Or the game only lets you "buy turbocharger" (without tier 1, 2 3, etc)?

How I wish I have my own 360 to play Forza

It still has tiers (depending on the car) and engine swaps, and aspiration swaps... But no drivetain swaps that I've seen thus far. This saddens me. And the tuning is just the stuff like changing gear ratios, suspension setups (camber, castor, ride height, etc) which I had a perfect setup for drifting with :(
But, they removed tuning so people didn't have to fine tune for hours just to be a tiny bit faster. Makes it more skill based, which I like.

Oh. Skill based. Fine by me, since I don't have time for fine tuning.

How about the maps? Are they realistic maps (i.e. real Las Vegas)? Do they also feature maps from other countries too or just based on US maps?

It's free roam based in collarado. It's actually amazing. It's hard to get used to jumping around the place >.> Bumps in the road, yo. Going 260 in a low car along a curvy, bumpy, barely road, road... that's hard work xD
