Game of the Year 2009

Might be a little early, but what the hell.

In all the games that were released so far, which would you give the edge for GoTY?

My vote goes to Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.

Why? It's simple. Absolutely amazing game play. Everything is refined to the smallest details. I mean, how many games are there out there where the character actually gets WET after being in water? Not to mention that multiplayer was put in as well, even though it didn't need to be. It's not one of those cheesy tacked on ones for the sake of replay value, but it was actually carefully developed and a genuine blast to play. Not to mention the co-op maps and the treasure that you can find lying around. This game has all the making of GoTY.

Huh, I just realized I haven't played a single 2009 release with the exception of ODST, which was just really horrible over all. I suppose since it is the only thing I've played it would be the only thing I could personally vote for, but I've still got time. Maybe I'll find something decent to play. Heh.

I'll have to second that. I believe Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is sure fire candidate for Game of the Year. But, this year isn't over and some good titles are coming out soon like Left 4 Dead 2, Dragon Age: Origins, Modern Warfare 2, and many more.

IMO Demon Souls should be game of the year.

UC2, DA:O, and Demon Souls are my top 3 so far.

Yeah, but I seriously doubt that Left 4 Dead 2 will be in the running. My guess would be Uncharted 2, MW 2, Dragon Age: Origins and the last one will be up for debate as the contenders.

Eh, I don't know. I think L4D2 would be in the running more so that Dragon Age, but then again it seems like every time I make a prediction like that I couldn't be proven more wrong.

Hey... That's what everyone thought about the first Left 4 Dead. No one knew about it or what about, but it became a hit. So, you never know.

Honestly, as fun as L4D is, it wasn't really that super great of a game. It is fun, but on a technical side, it's not as good as it could be. Here's hoping that L4D2 will fix a LOT of bugs that the original have.

Either way, I think L4D 2 is going to end up being addictive as the first one.

I would have to say MW2. the graphics, story, and gameplay are amazing.

I'd say Uncharted 2 or ODST. L4D2 might win but I don't think I should since it's almost the same game as L4D. I would want Demon's Souls to get Game of the Year, but it got no promotions or advertisement and just got around from word of mouth.

It is a bit early. Especially since I haven't got to play some of the best games this year yet but right now, I have to give my GOTY to Dragon Age: Origins. I've only put 23 hours into the game so far but I'm absolutely in love with it.

For me, i think it will going to be the Revelations: Persona re-make for psp.

L4D2 and MW2. both are amazing and worth playing.

Modern Warfare 2 is definitely gonna be Game of the Year 2009...but right now i am still playing...

Left 4 Dead 2 as GOTY? Surely you people jest. The damn game hasn't even come out yet.

Also, I bet most of the people who love LFD2 hate yearly sport games.

Oh yeah, that should be in the list as well somewhere too.

MW2 will be game of the year. It has the ratings, the sales, the popularity, and it is a great game. Plus it appeals to all gamers, where a game like Demon Souls doesn't.
