Game of the Year 2009

True. Demons Souls on appeal to rpgers, hardcore rpgers, people who likes a challenge.

@ First post. Nowadays, alot of games incorporate that. You've just been playing the ones without.

My vote will likely go to AC2 when it's out. We'll see.

I really haven't seen any games that go into such detail. The only one is pretty much Batman: Arkham Asylum, where he looks like he's been through hell after.

I vote for Left 4 Dead 2 and COD:MW2

Why the hell are people voting for L4D2? Judge it when it actually comes out, not the demo.

My guess is that they're judging from the demo.

The god damn demo is like two maps from one campaign. It's pointless to judge it from that. L4D2 has so much more. Survival, realism, versus. No one has played any of those yet and people are giving it GoTY? Fanboyism much?

Meh, game fanboyism is fine. It's console fanboyism that is the epitome of retardation.

Oh there's absolutely no doubt about that.

But the point of the matter is that idiots are giving GoTY to a game that has yet to be released, and completely ignoring all the other great games that were released this year. It's not like there are no shortage of them. It's really sad to see people so damn fixated on what they first played, and completely ignore all the other things out there.

Maybe they are sincerely convinced that nothing they have played so far this year, will have as much of an impact on them as L4D2. Granted, I think that's a stretch and it probably is some level of fanboyism, but I'd rather give them the benefit of the doubt.

I'm the same way. I haven't played MW2 yet, but based on what little bit of Modern Warfare I got to play, and the videos and reviews of MW2 that I have seen I would be willing to stake it as being my personal vote.

I'm going to have to say Modern Warfare 2. Such a fucking badass game.

You know, I know I'm probably gonna get flamed for this, and possibly get my rep knocked down, but I could really care less. MW2 does not deserve GotY. It's just like MW1, except with a few things fixed. The maps are shorter, pretty much the same weapon layout, and in my honest opinion, just a over hyped rehash.

I know noone mentioned this, which kinda makes me sad, but I would love to see Phantasy Star 0 get atleast nominated. For it being on the DS, the graphics are beautiful, it has a decent story line, and the local or wifi multiplayer is solid. And though customization is limited, atleast you get to make your own hero. And the boss battles do really offer a challenge, especially when you get to the higher difficulty settings.

With that final note, I'm done putting my 2 cents in.

I'd say MW2.

DJ Hero because it has the best sound track of all the games out this year. and Assassin's Creed II, because it touches up on so many more things that the first didnt.

My vote goes to Brütal Legend.
