Obviously MGS4, and Bioshock are up there as my two favorite games of all time, but the game that really captivated me above all others was Demon's Souls, not for the story, but for the INCREDIBLE atmosphere and individuality of every single level in the game, I didn't even play any other games until I had beat it twice, and for anyone who has played Demon's Souls, you know how ridiculously long and difficult of a process that is.

For me the game that wakes the most emotions and makes me want to play it for the story rather then just the gameplay is the Metal Gear Solid series. It has an awesome and captivating story with very good characters that you really care about and they aren't just there to make the game go forward.
