Games you wish they left alone

What's a game you played, that they just kept updating, and updating, and updating,
to the point where to don't recognize it anymore?.
This image shows what im talking about, i did not recognize armor when i logged in from quiting back in 2010

It does not have to be a MMO, have they changed call of duty?, Mario kart?, or final fantasy?, tell me!

A couple games come to mind like Parisite eve, or Final Fantasy, but i dont wish they left them alone so much as not fucked up the sequels.

Well, I wish Square Enix just dropped the whole Final Fantasy series already. It's been rotting for a while now, and trying to keep a series alive past its lifespan isn't good at all. Maybe they'll pull a Sonic and turn the series around soon?
Atlus needs to stop milking the Persona series so much. FES wasn't worth making, since it wasn't even a port of the third game. I adore the third game and am glad they're porting the series onto the PSP/Vita, but FES and Arena feel like they're just being made for money.
Also, RuneScape. I logged in after a year and found that there were plenty of updates that could've been spent on something worthwhile, like continuing the Elven questline that I'd like to see the end of. The game's strong point is the quests all having stories instead of them just being 20 bear asses, so having few updates in exchange for quests being continued would be awesome. Granted, it's not really that I want the updates to stop, but rather that I want them to be better.
That picture is incorrect. RunEscape had much more crude graphics back in '02. That picture is more of around the RunEscape 2.0 update to the graphical backlash update of '08.

The one game for me was a free MMO game by Nexon called Mabinogi. I hopped on that game during the 2nd GEN update. It is now up to....Gen 9 or something now? They added so many towns, weapons, races, and other stuff to the game it just got too crazy.
Also poor GMing on Nexons part has ruined the economy due to a item dup hack that went rampant for a while. I played it for a few years but, I just had to get off of it and play something else. I had a lot of memories with that game.

Maplestory, liked some of the additions but the ones I dislike by far outweighs the ones I like. Probably why I haven't touched it for the last 5 years.

I played World of Warcraft during Vanilla, those were some sublime days. Burning Crusade was the mark-up of much controversy but I personally believe, that was when WoW was at its best.
WotLK, Cataclysm, and now Pandaren are in my opinion excessive and unneeded. At least the changes to the classes and stat system weren't needed.

Mabinogi after Chapter 4 started. Now it has 'classes', WASD movement, and a story so confusing my eyes bleed.

Call of Duty after the 4th one. Although I don't mind Black Ops, they should let Treyarch do a trilogy of that and stop the modern child-fare nonsense now!

I Personally never really felt that way about any game. Ive never been the type to complain about too much content.

I actually can't think of a game that has gotten worse over time with new iterations. Even WoW, as bad as Hour of Twilight was, isn't fundamentally broken because of the update process, and even bad new content is better than no content.

I have no comments for new FF (13 and such) but I just want to complain about FF X-2. FF X is good, Yuna is so polite and have "good girl" attitude, and when X-2 out, I can't believe Yuna wears a daring clothes. And Le Blanc appearance :/
Feels like they want to use "sexual" factor to make FF more famous. Must be Tidus-Yuna fanboy/girl that pushed them to make a sequel (I've heard that FFX supposed to be a single game, no plans for a sequel at all. Besides I'm fine with FFX's ending)
Also Lineage2, when Kamael patch out, this game has lost its charm. This game was noob-friendly game back then, and now, just like the usual MMORPG, where IM rules.

Metal Gear Series, the new game to come out starring Raiden. JUST NO its a DMC clone. it doesnt deserve to have the METAL GEAR name.
POKEMON, after Ruby and Saphire things got too complicated for me. too many pokemon to remember their names and dont get me started on how rediculous some of them look.
MONSTER HUNTER, after Monster hunter freedon unite they stopped making Monster hunter games for american shores. (not counting MH-TRI) they should have just kept making localized version of the game instead of Americans having to hack their PSP's and downlaod a half translaed version of MHP3rd onto their portables

They've updated holy hell out of Halo:Reach because of players complaining about aspects of the game that me and my friends played it for. Skill and timing won't get you as far now because of people who complained.

AHEM, Final Fantasy VERSUS 13 by the very man who made Kingdom Hearts, that is all

Chrono Trigger. It had a clear beginning, middle, and satisfying end. Then Cross practically nullified and undid all the effort I put into Trigger. The DS port was A'ight, though.

Ragnarok Online. Reneval makes me cry, as well as the looks of new classes.Classes look awesome, not sure what you're talking about. But yeah, Renewal fucked EVERYTHING up. I know they tried to modernize the game and balance it for the new endgame, but most servers won't even use the new classes because they're so broken.

sonic the hedgehog, try as they might, they are just beating it to death, and as much as I like shadow he was the sign of the end for sonic games

Runescape and Mabinogi. I can barely play RS when I get the rare vibe to start playing for 10 levels or so, but Mabinogi is the worst. I had an account when the game was launched. It was a 2D game, and you starting off with a shipwreck. I remember I tried playing it a few months ago and I was like WTF?! Keep in mind I was using a new account too. They even changed the beginning of the game.
