Global/General Sniper Rifle Discussion

Not really. Haven't really been paying attention to Battlefield 3 at all, to be honest. I'm still surprised it is being released for consoles, which is going to lead to bad things. The game is inevitably not going to be as amazing as everyone is hyping it up to be (no game ever has) and who is going to be blamed when the game turns out inferior to the expectations? The consoles. "Man, the stupid console players screwed up another PC game." Ugh, I can already hear it now.

That said, when more stuff does get released about the game I'll start looking into it and consider whether or not I'll buy it for 360.

I haven't played that many FPS games tbh but I would have to say...the M21 EBR sniper rifle in MW2. Idk but I just have much more fun with that weapon than all the other ones. Before I used M21 though my favorite was the WA2000.

if you like the M21 EBR you should try out the M110 in Battle Field (campaign only I believe)

There is the part where you use the .50 Cal Berret... awesomeness...

I prestiged again. and just got to level 21 took.... Less then a day I believe. My sniper class is atm WA2000 with the adjustable zoom, python with acog. lightweight pro, scout (will pro soon) and marathon (will pro soon) semtax, concussion, tact insert (might change to claymore later).

I hate that holding breath requires me to hold it down. Ended up missing kills and/or dying because the scope swings when I dont hold it hard enough. Sometimes even if I aim right at the guys head I still don't get the kill.

COD Black Ops seems to hate me. I'll still play because when it actually goes in my favor it just feels great.

Ah, now this is why World at War is the best Call of Duty game. Yeah, you heard me! Even better than Modern Warfare.

Any moron could run around with the MP40 with Stopping Power or Juggernaut. However, you were really awesome running around with either the Arisaka, Kar98 or Mosin-Nagant with naught but the bayonet on your side. This is how a real man snipes!

Makes me wanna play the game again.

That was the only thing that made me hate WaW, MP40 jugger-fags. But the Mosin-Nagant and Kar98 were fun to use.

Hm, what I missed with Modern Warfare. Damn. Why in the world Infinity Ward actually increased the damage output of the M40A3 w/ACOG is beyond me, but it is ridiculously awesome.

At first I couldn't figure out the prevalancy of the M40A3 in matches when you have the R700 and Barrett Lite 50 with superior multipliers, and the M21 for superior stealth options. Then I noticed 90% of M40A3 users were using the ACOG, so I tried it and my reaction was "... how did I kill that guy in one hit to the leg?" I have no idea why they raised the damage output to 75 (with ACOG), but that means with Stopping Power (x1.4 damage multiplier) it is a one-hit kill to all non-Juggernaut targets, provided you aren't shooting through cover.

Holy crap. Now I understand why everyone and their mum uses this gun now. Jesus. >.>

I got to play with Bad Company 2 on my cousin's PS3 today, first class I jumped on was the recon class.

At first I was hoping to get back to sniping people with the M24, but then I realized how off my shots were without the 12x scope. I compensated for the bullet drop by aiming higher than my target's head, but no hit marker or confirmation of a kill.

Overall I still had fun.

sniping in black ops is so inaccurate sometimes

Theatre mode is pretty cool, nothing like watching a match were you dominate people or to show off some insane killsteaks.

And the sniping is pretty bad, crosshairs right on a guy's head, fire, no kill.

Should consider getting it sometime. There is still a decent sized community playing Modern Warfare. A friend and I have been playing that a lot lately. There is pretty much everything better about Modern Warfare compared to its sequel.

M40A3 w/ACOG and R700 <3

Just played medal of honor online and even though I still dislike the scope, it wasn't as bad as before. Maybe its because I just had a few good games that I think like that now. Lol

and to say the least

Having a smaller scope does make sense, since the maps in this game aren't as big as bad company.

Feels weird when I snipe on Bad Company 2 now. Not playing online for nearly 3 months really messes you up. :/

I would say it's not having played for a long time.

Before, I would hit 9 out of 10 targets with the first shot, now it's usually 5 out of 10 on the first try. I haven't readjusted to aiming higher.
