Global/General Sniper Rifle Discussion

Battlefield 3, we'll see. I'm not hyped up about it, but I'll give it a look see and try the Beta, if that ever does happen for the 360.

As for other FPS games, nope not really. I'm fairly relegated to the the CoD and L4D series when it comes to playing online.

You never tried Fallout 3 or New Vegas then? I can't say that those guys are as fast passed as CoD is but its a nice causal shooter.

Oh yeah, I have. I thought we were talking about online multiplayer. Borderlands is one of my favorite, although I suppose that is technically multiplayer in way lieu of co-op, but it is still different.

I love the S&S Orion and the Maliwan Volcano sniper rifles when I'm using Lilith. Mmm... sniping.

Actually I haven't gotten around to New Vegas yet. I've owned it for several months now, but played it for all of two hours at most.

I enjoyed Fallout 3 and all, but I had replayed the entire game from start till finish before going on to purchase and play New Vegas and it was just too much. I grew very tired of it. I should get back to it soon.

yeah the thing that makes the game great is also the reason why people stop playing it. Heck for me since I'm too lazy to go on with the main storyline since too much shit to do... I've run out of people to kill... I think they stopped spawning due to no pregressing in story. In Fallout 3 some thing similar happened. Too bad in Fallout 3 you can't look down sights also the sniper rifle sucks... if it wasn't for the gauss rifle it would have been a comepletely a shitty game for snipping imo

I love that satisfying feeling of picking off a sniper who thinks he's safe just because he's way out of range for most people and believes his cover will protect him; it gets even better when he doesn't learn his lesson and goes back to the same spot.

Even better if he constantly getting revived by a teamate and you get endless headshots off them?

That actually happened for me too, guy keeps getting on a mounted turret, I shoot, his team mate revives him, I shoot again, repeat. It's just funny when they don't learn that it's a bad idea.

It fucking sucks when it happens to you. Like your just walking along and some dude kills and some low level point whore medic comes and revives you and the instant you revive you get killed again and repeat process

Last time that happened, I got a knife to the face when I was revived at a really bad moment.

My dad usually rage quits when that happens to him.

When I get knifed, I hunt the guy down and knife him.

Only other "sniping" I've done was with the Stalker Pattern/Daemon Eye Bolter on Space Marine.

It's semi-automatic and pretty good; I'm just waiting for Relic to fix a bug for the PS3 that's preventing me from playing online.

I hear there are a lot of new games out now. Know any good ones for sniping?

I wish there were some Free roaming FPS sniper games out there... Kind of like Fallout and New Vegas... but more variety of scoped weapons

Yeah sucks that there isn't much variety, but it doesn't mean you can't make the best out of what you have already.

There aren't many different types of weapons, not many weapons you can customize and not many customizations. You can't customize clothes and clothes are only in 3 parts. Top of head, face, body -.-

And the clothes on the covers never look as cool in game.

BC2 only has 7 sniper rifles to choose from, and I only use 4 of them. Not much variety but a challenge to adjust to each gun.

It does get boring, looking through a 12x scope looking for targets, but when you finally see one, readjust the sights so you're sure you'll hit the target, fire,and see the reap the rewards.

Tried Medal of Honor?

When I played it... I usually use the sniper. It's nice getting one hit kills but the game is soooo annoying. It's all about position. Once you get the right position you just rank up kills. If your defending the best thing is to get a position behind the enemies respawn point. And if you attack just got to find a good place on your side where you can just camp. That's all the game is about for me. One time I went 20/0... not much but its still pretty meh. It's all about position and map
