God Eater (PSP)

In this adventure game, you play as a God Eater, a young warrior who has taken up arms against Aragami, a powerful, mysterious creature that has appeared around the world. You team up with three other God Eaters for co-operative Aragami hunting through over 100 missions.

God Eater lets players create their own character, editing such areas as hair style, hair color, face, skin, clothing, and voice. You can even customize your weapon using special materials. Players can venture out in the world in four-player co-op quests, and outside of multiplayer, the game promises a large story. When playing alone, you'll experience a full story with CPU-controlled NPC characters.

The only thing that's lacking is graphics on par with MH. And hopefully, seamless adhoc play just like MH.

sad that my psp is dead. The game looks like it has a lot of potential...and overly massive swords

Ps2 is already too old. they want to focus on making them in new consoles/handheld

Finally a decent looking psp game, Ive been playing Crash Bandicoot 2 forever on that thing.

Graphics of PSP is PS2 level of quality or below.

And plus there's this whole thing of me sucking on action stuff for handheld games xD I would consider it if it was an turn based rpg but not when its fighting style is similar to monster hunter.

Tiny screen and my hands being cramped and trying to hit unhittable monsters results in me turning PSP off to go on a teabagging spree on halo3

the Ps2 MH and PSP one has the same camera system, and it would result the same camera effect .

it's just a matter of adaptation. Think the ones who has reached G class complains the same thing as you? lol no.

It's already out in Japan. The sequel was revealed a few days ago at the God Eater Festival event. As for the US/EU release it should be out in 2010, no specific release date confirmed.

On Topic, I prefer Monster Hunter, since 3 is coming out in the PSP (if they removed the Dual blades, fuck it, i'm going to God Eater)

Differences from MH
-SPEED -everthing is much fast paced
-NPCs -you'll actually have some NPCs that you can take to battle
-Story -yes, this one has a REAL solid backstory
-Voice Acting... yeah lol
-Multi-funtional weapons - it could be a sword mode, gun mode, it has a shield, and it could literally bite back. lol

Graphics reming me of Megaman legends 1 but beefed up a bit.

You're right, monster hunter's fighting style isn't in my realm of preference. Although what G class means has gone over my head because I have no idea what that means in MH xD

-make G class armors
-make G class weapons.

I might try it. But from the sound of the description, The story mode could end quickly. Plus, since it has a story mode, i'm thinking it will have a final boss moment, which means you'll be forced to quickly try and create more powerful items.

But what i'm really looking for is a great co-op game, since God Eater is the same as MH (4 players).

Games like these are not for you IF:

You are usually a loner
You do not have any friends
Well, you DO have friends, but they're all so fucking poor they don't have their own PSP's
Your friends are gamers, but they're asses and won't even lend you a single potion
You tend to get bored and irritated killing the same monster for an item that has 0.5% chance of appearing. Not to mention you have to collect this item 2-5 times.

well, I haven't gotten far with my play, I only got 5 NPCs now, which is really helpful if I don't have any "human" players to back me up. heck, they can revive me if I'm down for the count. lol seriously helpful.. since I've never played MH with more than just 2 people... oh those gunners really do help....

well, about story, I can't guess how long it would be, but it will surely let you roam free before or afterwards, I can even repeat missions. Story missions is basically class up missions in MH

about items, well, newer weapons and clothes will come with your advance on the story, so it will probably progress equally, like MH, class up better armor to make.

I still can't beat the "poster" Aragami (cover box monster) yet, it took half my life per "pounce" lol
