you get them pretty early in the game, since most of them are your senior god eaters.
and they're AI isn't bad
-they'll dodge
-attack at the right time and eve dodge at the right time
-attack with predator mode -> weapon buff up momentratily, while getting special bullets for gunner mode
-revive is 1st priority when you're down.
-pin point accuracy.

I might try it. But from the sound of the description, The story mode could end quickly. Plus, since it has a story mode, i'm thinking it will have a final boss moment, which means you'll be forced to quickly try and create more powerful items.
well, I haven't gotten far with my play, I only got 5 NPCs now, which is really helpful if I don't have any "human" players to back me up. heck, they can revive me if I'm down for the count. lol seriously helpful.. since I've never played MH with more than just 2 people... oh those gunners really do help....
well, about story, I can't guess how long it would be, but it will surely let you roam free before or afterwards, I can even repeat missions. Story missions is basically class up missions in MH
about items, well, newer weapons and clothes will come with your advance on the story, so it will probably progress equally, like MH, class up better armor to make.
I still can't beat the "poster" Aragami (cover box monster) yet, it took half my life per "pounce" lol
Hm...you can bring npcs with you to every fight? Is it possible? well, afterwards when you meet the first npc you can take?

yes, it's possible., except story missions which is fixed party.
well, those NPCs are the main characters of the story, you just need to meet them once, then you can recruit them to free missions.

the circular map = all 3 will come at you eventually if you don't manage to keep changing positions while fighting one of them.

Played the game. Currently at the start of Rank 6 mission. Best thing about this game is the custom bullet system.
If you guys played long enough wait till you reach the stage where you have to fight 4 Kongo, the most annoying stage in the story mission. You can't avoid it if you want to advance the storyline. Also Kouta is a pretty useless character.
