Yes to Demon Souls...
I'm also a big fan of the Disgaea series... 3 is on the PS3 but I would recommend starting with the first regardless. It's more of a tactical rpg but that series has the best battle system for the genre imo (tactical rpg, that is).

Try Eternal Sonata.I wouldn't recommend this game. I remember buying PS3 just for it. But when i actually played it,it was a total disappointment. Story sucked battle system is a complete button smash. Graphics nice though and soundtrack.
Near the end i was like *argh hell when this is going to end already.*
As for RPGs i would recommend Disgaea 3. Although i haven't played it myself but, the previous 2 games were very nice.

I loved Eternal Sonata, and the story was fantastic, but some people thought it was jut TOO out there. Themes like existentialism are rarely touched upon in games, but they did an amazing job in Eternal Sonata, not to to mention the usual genres like the appreciation of friends and love. Only thing about Eternal Sonata that was weak was the characterization. They chose to focus almost entirely on Frédéric Chopin, and later a little on Polka and Allegretto, that everyone else took a back seat.

While it may look great to you. I doubt that veteran JRPG players will find any place in their hearts for this game. *I am playing JRPGs mostly since 1996 it is not so long but still* Compared to other games this one was just....childish. But that's just IMO.
As for the party. I only used Salsa *cuz she is loli* March *cuz she is loli* Viola * Cuz she is OP*

I've been playing JRPGs for longer than that, and I thought it was very impressive. It has a deeper meaning than the childish way the game looks. Similar to how the Mother series is presented, but whatever, to each their own.

i enjoyed Eternal Sonata, although i must say Polka is a sucky character to use :(
umm..regarding people saying its TOO out there, they know its taking place in a dream right? the place where fantasy rules? The place where thing can make no sense? ya...
actually regarding RPG, i can't really differentiate games too much besides their genre ie: shooter, turn base (I consider most games to be RPG). I recommend Infamous and Prototype
