Graphics whore, Graphics whore everywhere

People like that are retarded. I find myself playing a lot of the older games (PSX, SNES, Gameboy, etc) for the game play and story. Hell, I replay them again (LoD, FF series, etc) at least once in a time span of 2-3 years. Mortal Kombat vs. DC was a terrible game.

No freaking joke. You should see the life-sized statue my brother made of Nyan-cat. From a distance, it looks exactly like the real thing. XD

But seriously, graphics rarely ever matter to me. It's all about the gameplay, plot, and music to an extent.

Also, seriously?! Even now, I say Gears 1 and 2 look awesome, and I'm not even a fan. Little underage faggots...

This kind of situation makes me wonders what's wrong with the game world now. I still remember quite clearly how these kind of problem emerged.

During my childhood era,gamers wanted more 3D game which in the end causes many of 2D games to dies as many gamers considered that 2D games suck while 3D is the best even though many 2D beat em up games like Street of Rage, Golden Axe to dies out and never heard out anymore.

The further we go as the capabilities to produce good graphics has keep been increasing, more and more gamers is asking for a beautiful graphics with all kind of new engine while the one who is not using any of those get kill out in the process.

If the games has good graphics and the good gameplay it is okay(Like Resonance of Fate even though the story is just....???) However nowadays not only game companies that relies on graphics, it is even the community that wanted game with good and realistic graphics and if the product is something not realistic like with Mario, Sonic, Pokemon, Zelda, Phantasy Star. They will come and said that games is for child and we should join them playing some of nowadays beautiful graphics game.

One of the franchise that suffers from this condition i believe is Castlevania series as the series which is famous for 2D scrolling is being forced into being 3D style even though i will admit that except for the story, the game is kinda good and refreshing.

Graphics don't make the game.

I remember half my fiends dumbing on prince of Persia (The one with the light seeds) cause it had terrible graphics compared to assassins creed

I think the funniest part of that back and forth is that both of the older Gears titles are actually still have really nice graphics.

Frankly, I couldn't care less for graphical fidelity; a game with brilliant aesthetic design will be truly timeless. Not to say that the HD generation hasn't bought forth incredible technical marvels, but the best-looking games aren't even the ones with the best engines. They're the ones with unique, or well-realized, art styles; Team Fortress 2, Borderlands, BioShock, Just Cause 2, aforementioned RAGE. Even games like Crysis. Sure, they're built on advanced-as-hell engines that break hardware. But that doesn't mean that the graphics will automatically look good. They all have incredible aesthetics; colour schemes, character designs, really basic visual design stuff that seems simple in theory but when screwed up completely break everything. This is how strictly 2D platformers still manage to look GREAT.

So yes. Graphics whores are morons because what makes "good graphics" are less about technical achievement, and more about the entirety of the look and feel of the games.

Am I the only one that didn't like rage? I mean sure the graphics where fantastic and the animations of enemys and friendlys alike where friggin godly, but with the real meat on the story and generic weapons for an FPS it left me disapointed. I beat it once and sold it on ebay and got my money back.

I've got countless emulators on my laptop for GBA,GBC,Sega Genesis,N64,PS1 etc. I've even got GBA,GBC and sega genesis emulators on my hacked psp. I enjoy the old days. back where games where go here and go there. now we got all these games that sometimes have no real indication as to why your killing this person or why your delivering food to said people in a little cutscene 5 minutes back, I can't stand graphic whores. they're so ignorant and are never willing to try new things. I would guess most of those people are born between 1995 and up. back when they never knew what 2D was or even what "PIXELS" where. specially when the ps3 came out. One of my long time buds wouldn't shut up about how good the games looked, even after a year it had been out. so I bought a xbox 360 and never really saw a difference nor did I care.

so long as the gameplay is solid, music is awesome,the characters are memorable, and I can play through it a few times without getting bored im happy.

I can say the only game I've come across that had all those was "OKAMI"

Somebody at my school said I should burn my Nintendo 64 because the graphics are "so horrible that its existence is a shame". Some people are just "special" I guess...

Yeah it is just like how some of the kids nowadays said that game that is released on previous=bad game without even considering that during that era, that game already present us with a good graphics. Damn i even still remember all of my Sega's game which graphics probably not as good as PS1 however the game is just as addicting as any game i can find. Gunstar Heroes, Street of Rage series, Golden Axe, not to mention game from Nintendo is the one that get bashed the most lol. Mario= Kiddie game!!?? Man i believe if i asked one of those graphic whore to play the game, they won't be able to finish the game i believe.



If one of my friends tell me that i will just ask him to burn his head off as his statement is shaming his own self. I own all consoles from the oldest one Atari until now the newest one 3DS(Well i haven't bought Vita yet but i am sure that i am going to buy that one too.)
And never once i complained about graphics. "All games can be fun as long as the gameplay/story is good" If a game can be good just by graphics, all the big companies game should all be 10/10 game however even some of those game with great graphics just fail hard as they are too dependent on graphics and forget the basic of one game which is just so simple."Make the game interesting and fun too play"

Man i always get into raged whenever i heard about those ignorant people who does not know what a real game is but keep acting like they know everything about gaming.
