Overview
The story takes place in the year 2020, just three years after the events of .hack//G.U.. The story will take place not only in the new version of "The World" known as "The World R:X" but in the real world as well. The lead character is a middle school student named Tokio Kuryuu. He lives a normal life as a gamer until a mysterious girl named Saika Amagi transfers to his school. She takes Tokio to the school rooftop one day and sends his consciousness and real body into The World R:X, where Tokio begins to discover that time for some characters, and even the history of The World itself, are going haywire; for instance, Tsukasa is turning back into his previous cold mannerisms, and Haseo is being cold-hearted and obsessive about finding and killing Tri-Edge. So, I'm playing the Japanese version now, and I like this game as much as the other .Hacks

3 hours into the game and my First impressions are:

Pro
-Comic-like Story telling and dialogs
-much more open action than it's predecessors
-New Character designs
-new Rengeki combo and X (Cross) Rengeki

Cons for now...
-Stiff Camera control (you need to hold L and move the D-Pad)
-The quick action Trigger is kinda "slow" since you can only choose one at a time and must scroll-change it in between battles.


well, that's that for now I guess..

So, in a nutshell, you'll be traveling time in "The World" from 2009 - 2020 resolving other character problems. :P

for those who were pessimistic about the PSP it's time to change. You better buy a PSP now if you can, more High Quality games (this opinion is subjective :P) is coming out now. (Valkyria Chronicles 2, God Eater. MGS Peace Walker)

Would like to play but heck Im a poor guy... well I'll just list this down then and pray they has cracked most current version of PSP by the time I has my job...

this is a good thing?, sorry but i prefer the dark moody story line from .hack and .hack GU

Yep, I'll have to get a PSP for this, just like I had to get a PS2 for IMOQ.

I still think it should have just been a PS2 game. They give you all those wonderful characters to work with, yet you can only have one of them at a time. Damn it, I want my Kite-BlackRose combo!

Also, some X Rengekis are hilarious. Now I'm going to have "Rengeki!" looping through my head again when it comes out in English.

I never mentioned the story going to be all "bright" and all. Heck, even the start was gloomy when you see a bunch of "statues" that you recognize so well.

I only said the story telling is like a comic book, doesn't mean that the story is not going to be dark and gloomy in one part of the story.

NEW Pro:
-MANY PLAYABLE UPC CHARACTERS

NEW Cons:
-UPC (partner) is a little bit "retarded" (can't confirm yet, since I only have Mimiru.) Usually the UPC will just stay at one place and do an attack skill, or get close to the monster and attack "AFTER" staying still for a couple of seconds.

-Can only use 1 UPC per field
I hope that doesn't occur to other characters

33 UPC characters to get , and yeah almost 80% of the damage or fighting is done by you so dun hope on ur UPC too much =w=

so did anybody get all the free stuff with the game if u reserved it? I heard japan got like 6 disk of music and anime and goofy things.

I'm amazed that they included almost all the .hack titles. even only the ones that is only available as a Manga/Novel like .Hack//Aibuster

can't wait to see other non game/anime .Hacks getting materialized

Depends if you're into something different. It's combat system is actually pretty crappy, but I still like it.

I don't like how anything that's tough can be easily beaten after you get 3-4 levels.

Seriously, this is going to be longer than I expected, since there are more timelines that aren't revealed yet... will they add .hack//Liminality into the game? lol

The combat is bad, the story is mediocre, and the characters (for the most part) lack any depth. BUT OH GOD ITS SO ADDICTIVE.

well i'm playing the game and currently i'm in .Hack//Gu's timeline where almost facing Ovan.

the .Hack//LINK stories got all .Hack series in it(novel,manga,game,anime).

.Hack//liminality got only one chapter.

i love mune megane's design of Kite in Xth form.

ah.. Xth form, it's not exclusive anymore lol.

well, I'm cleaning Up The World R:1 first, eventhough I can already go to .Hack//Roots

This game is too easy too level up lol.

@Midgar: If you only played 1 .Hack series, then I Agree that it's mediocre, but if you played/read all of them. you'll get ONE good Big Story. :D
