HARDEST BOSS BATTLES!!!

Just about every boss in Lunar: Silver Story Complete for the Playstation
What really makes the bosses hard is that it's sort of like FFVIII. The bosses' stats are based on the main character's stats. The stronger the main character is, the stronger the boss. And what really sucks is that, because he's the main character, he's always the strongest person in your party, and you can't stick him on the sidelines so he doesn't get any EXP. And there's no ceiling. If you're at level 99 and fighting the first boss, the boss is still going to be tough.

The Dark Aeons in FFX are really nasty. I managed to beat Valefor, Ifrit, Shiva and Ixion. The rest of them (Anima, Bahamut, Magus Sisters, Yojimbo) are just ridiculous. Nasty shit.

The moment I saw the title, I was like, "people are going to be posting RPG bosses like a motherfuck." My spidey senses still haven't let me down.
Ares on god mode in god of war. Does a one hit kill make this a fucked up boss battle or what? Due to my skittlez, I survived this adverse moment... after dying about 10 times.
Not god mode, lol.
I almost forgot that you also have to fight like 50 something dark kratos' to save your family. Luckily finished that on my second try.

I hated Ares, not because he was hard, but because you have to button-mash so hard to beat him = (
Yaizmat and Ozma aren't too terrible... You can get a good setup for Yiaz, fully automate your team with gambits, come back in a few hours, call it a day. As for Ozma, with the right gear, I believe you can do it at lvl 1 =p
I can't think of any really terrible bosses I've had tons of trouble beating... Maybe some of the Ninja Gaiden (Xbox) bosses?

Though not a boss fight, i would vote attempting to solo the downloaded G-Rank Dual Golden Rajang in Great Arena (Not final invitation, in this one both the rajang appears right at the start).
But because of the lack of an online video of that mission, i will go with:
Devil May Cry 3: Dante Must Die Mode Vergil final battle.
Unless you are as good as the guy in the vid with royal guard, this guy aint as easy as you might think from the vid ;p He berserks and goes into demon form VERY often as he is low on health (And he regenerates a shit ton of health in the process). If you are willing to take the risk of getting 1 hitted, you can try to knock him out of demon form with a barrage of attacks (or a powerful attack) ;D

Even normal difficulty bosses are pretty strong. But that's what made the game good. That and the awesome OST.

I'd have to list just about any boss from most Megaman games I've played. Especially the earlier ones.

For me the hardest battle was the spider guy in Ninja Gaiden 2 for the NES. My brother was not able to bet him, and he was better at that game than me.

I'm going to have to go with FF VIII's Omega Weapon. That and FFVII's Emerald weapon were pretty insane.
I just got a copy of The Last Remnant for PC and I found this rare dragon in Crookfen while doing a mission and he took like half an hour to kill. Hope theres more like that in the game.

Well there are two that spring to mind. I'd actually be surprised if anyone else here has fought them since most people here seem to have mainly played Final Fantasy, some Tales games and a few other JRPGs, but I don't think I've seen these games mentioned. Even if you have played either of them, you have to put in a lot of work to get to them. I personally fought Freya (and died horribly) but didn't get to Demi-Fiend. I can understand how hard he is, though, since I've played DDS1 and DDS2 a lot. To fight Freya you have to do an insane amount of stuff after the "final" boss and to fight Demi-Fiend you have to complete DDS twice.
Freya, Star Ocean 3.
Originally, I just wrote several paragraphs trying to convey how hard it is, but it'd be pointless if you hadn't seen her with your own eyes and pointless if you had. It's just that first of all, SO3 is played in real-time with a fairly complex battle system similar to a 3D fighting game. This means that even if you know exactly what to do, you can't just mechanically proceed to do it in a turn-based style; you still need to skill and dexterity to be able to pull it off. Add to that fact the other fact that you need to customise your own armour and weapons and you see that it's not like in most RPGs where you just get the best set of equipment, level to max level and then easily kill the boss. Damn, and now I've made myself want to play SO3 again...
Demi-Fiend, Digital Devil Saga
Now, to go against what I've just said, a genuinely hard turn-based boss is the Demi-Fiend from DDS1. It's super hidden boss that you have to play through twice to see. He's actually the main character from SMT Nocturne. Even if you are max level, have optimal equipment and set-up, do exactly what you're supposed to... He can still kill you easily. To be honest, I think it's bad that luck comes into so much (unlike in Star Ocean or the Tales series, or in TWEWY, where if you've got the skill, you can theoretically do almost everything at level 1) but still, it does make him probably the hardest turn-based RPG boss that comes to mind.

That video shows how to defeat ares in THE most slowest yet efficient way...
It also screams out "I'm too much of a pussy to fight the dude head-on"
Still, I agree that Ares in God mode was fuckin hard (buton mashing is not much of a problem unless you don't want to break your Controller), but, for me, I think the Dark Kratos was much more harder than the god of War himself.
It took me half a day to at least finish the Dark Kratoses

The Immortal One - Lost Odyssey
I don't believe I've ever had as much trouble with a boss before as I had with The Immortal One. I was nearly maxed out (everyone was at least in the 90s) and I still tried at least a dozen times to beat him. Ironically though, some people don't have any trouble with him and some never do beat him. The problem is a lot of it comes down to luck no matter what level you are or what skills you have equipped.
That video was similar to the method I used, but I ended up not using Divide and Reversa usually because I'd always get unlucky and would get stuck with 1 HP on a caster when I casted Divide and wasted a turn, and I was constantly healing so Reversa wasn't overly reliable either.
Beating him in 30 turns for the secret achievement was the like the best feeling in a long time. XD
(Wow, the guy who did the video got extremely lucky a few times. Luck never seemed to be on my side when I fought him. -_-)
