Has a video game ever made you cry?

We all know some games can have a very touching storyline. But has a video game ever made you cry emotionally?
I personally never have. But I have been quite moved.

I have been moved by some video games who had a really touching story but i have never cried not even been close to crying, just moved, anime and movies on the other hand has made me cry.

Nope, not to my recollection anyway.

Well if you count getting so pissed off that you swing your arm in a flutter of movements within a small enlclosed space and accidentally hit something to hard that you break your knuckles therefore sheading manly tears of awesome, then yes. I have.

the only game makes me feel kinda moved is Gears of Wars 2...when doing side story about finding Dom's wife Maria...i'm controlling Dom, so...



After that...i killed lots of Locusts

I would say I've felt moved. Any game with a good story and compelling characters that you can immerse yourself in will move a player to some extent. That's what's so great about a lot of RPGs.

Not really, but there is one tear I remember it came when I realized what a terrible life Kratos has, though the game is not sad, realizing what a life he has is. I mean he had to kill his wife and his child, that is tough. But after the tear, I just slaughtered more of the foes.

But Anime, especially Clannad, can make me really moved.

Moved several times, but I think I've only cried at the ending to Tales of the Abyss. Fact I cried twice towards the end of that game.

Just like with anime, I've never cried. I've come close though.

These games brought me to the brink:
- Final Fantasy X (once)
- Final Fantasy VII (only once)
- Phantom Brave (once)
- Zelda: Majora's Mask (once)
- Zelda: Ocarina of Time (twice)
- Tales of Phantasia (twice)
- Phantasy Star II (twice)
- Xenogears (a few times)
- Phantasy Star Online (a few times)
- Odin Sphere (all over the place)

How the hell did I forget about Xenosaga?! Had a couple moments in that series as well.

Never cried or even thought about crying. And I've played a ton of games.

My eyes watered up when aries died. If VN count as games then yes I've cried more than once.

Metal Gear Solid 3

I killed the boss.

I don't recall that I ever cried during a video game. it's possible but then I might not remember it.

I cried only once in Xenosaga EP III when i watched the ending movie.

Some of the Lost Odyssey dream sequences got my eyes teared up, those things were very well written, and the subtle visual effects (like the colors of the screen) and the occasional sound effects were great. That is how reading should be.

I know I've cried once or twice, but I can't recall the game(s). Whenever I try to remember, I can only think of the anime and VNs that have made me cry.

Oh yeah, I had forgotten about Lost Odyssey. Yeah, those text novelas were absolutely amazing. You'd have to be heartless to not have teared up several times during the course of Lost Odyssey.

WTF kinda video games are out there that would make it's player cry? I mean, seeing as how a lot of members here play games that have animes, etc, I guess I could see that, but a game either makes you think, get pumped out, or make you pee your pants in fear.

A lot of JRPGs have heart-tugging moments as part of their narrative. Lost Odyssey thrives on trying to tug at your heartstrings.

FF7 was the closest to making me cry.
