Marvel vs Capcom 3

Yeah, I've had the game since it came out and am only now starting to get decent. I can clear hard difficulty now, no problem. Starting to wish I had an arcade stick though, because playing using a 360 controller sucks ass.
Speaking of sucking ass, went back and played MvC2...horrible idea.

One thing i hate about the xbox controller is the D-pad.Its like a 3rd analog stick.I like the PS3 D-pad,all of the directional buttons are apart.Yet controllers don't cut it for fighting games, just as for racing games and why do you say playing MVC2 is a horrible idea?

Hmm... Don't be dissin' pad players. I play on pad and am doing fine. I played on both PS3 controller and XBox and for my preference, I actually prefer XBox. Dunno, that's just me.
Anyway, Hokuto played me, so he knows just how well I can play.
I can play on Arcade Stick, but I will be dropping combos all over, and I can't do any of the fancy Zero stuff I like to do on pad. I will usually use simple characters if I use an Arcade stick like Ryu, Wolverine, and the like.

You have two Shoto characters in Ryu and Akuma. Don't need Ken. You also have 4 Street Fighters already, again, don't need Ken.

Mhm. I remember in one match I didn't touch you once. Also I'd like to play whenever your on and free. My philosophy is "If I get my ass beat enough I'll learn." Like I need to push block and do air combos more.
^ Just saw you post. Also in with SSF4 AE coming out you get 7. Evil Ryu and Regular Ryu, Oni Akuma and Akuma, Ken, Dan, and Sakura

dan and sakura arent shotos though. sagat is more of a shoto than they are, tbh.

Explain to me the exact definition of a shoto? Because I thought it was someone who uses the same moves.

It's just I've been playing MvC3 for so long that I've completely forgot how to play MvC2. Can't air combo for shit, forgot what assist does what, etc., etc.

That's not a good way to learn. It's best to play people around your level. After that, you'll learn what those people do. Soon, you'll find that those people are easy to beat, that means you've gotten better and you move on.
The best way is just to practice and play a lot. For you right now, you need to learn to not button mash. Go into training mode and do simple motions.
Ex. Do Fireball motion 50 times. Do DP motion 50 times. Etc. After that, do a basic L, M, H, S, j.M, j.M, j.H, S. combo. Do that without mashing several times, 50 times even. Do this everyday for a week, and you'll be good with your execution.
Once your execution is down, you can work on combos, but that's secondary. What you want to work on next is fundamentals. Learning to block is the big one. Learning about spacing is another huge one you need to learn. You'll learn all this by playing more and more. Experience is the best way to learn.
But... For you.... Learn to not mash buttons.
I'm nowhere near top level yet... I should take my own advice and practice... XD

Should I worry about my team structure yet? Also I'm shit a srk motions.
The characters I'm good with/ Got 5 or missions completed that if I worked on I could possibly get good
Well I can easily do the hadoken motion. The tastu motion not so much. I pull like 2 before I mess up. Looks like I'm going to be practicing this motion alot.
Spoiler:

You can do Hadouken but not Tatsu? What...? They're the same motion...
And you should be able to do 1-5 for everyone... It's not hard... =/

Shoot, that reminds me that I need to finish some more missions. I at least have all the characters up to level 6 or 7 for their missions.

By Mastering Ryu's basic moveset, you can master anyone else.
Capt's Charging Star, also uses the same move.
Almost all characters have that same move set motion.

no, not really.
you guys need to stop concentrating so hard on being able to do specials and realize that your normals and proper chains/assists are just as important.
Anyway.. gonna hook up and update my ps3 later to play. I dont really practice, but im down to play.

Not the greatest player. And I'm more use to doing it down forward. But down back I can't because of reasons idk. Maybe I can't get everyone to 1-5 is because I haven't been playing fighting games for a long time.

I only just started playing fighting games when Marvel vs Capcom 3 came out...
Sure I dabbled a little bit with other games like SFII, SFIV, BlazBlue, and the like, but I didn't really play until MvC3.

Then the only thing left I got is either I suck or your better at picking up games than me.
