Metroid Other M...
0
I got Other M today after a very long wait for its release. I turn on my wii and pop in the disc... Waiting about 30 seconds.
"Disc read error"
So I try to update my system and its up to date.
"Disc read error"
Feeling google-ish, I search if other people have had this problem. I found a few threads saying so and most of them telling the poster to get a lens cleaner. Other dual layered disc work just fine but this one is being a bitch. I dont have the money for the repair by nintendo (75.00$) and buying the lens cleaner might not even work.
Any other suggestions?

wtf??
well, do you have a chipped wii? if so, update 4.3 kills all kinds of hacking stuff niside your wii, so that may cause some errors. Other things to check is indeed your lens (clean it), the disc (does it have any weird shit on it? return it/clean it). You could also try to remove the power cord and re plug it to 'refresh' your wii (works sometime to fix wiimotes sync probs).
If nothing works, return the game and get a new one.

Well I called nintendo and they said almost all wiis from 06 will do this if you dont clean your lens. The game is larger and dual layered which requires a clean lens. The good news is I get a free 1-year warranty and its no charge for the repair.
