Exactly. Honestly though, canceling accounts and boycotting Blizzard seems a little extreme for an announcement that had no effect on the games at all and is completely up to you if you use any of it's features... even those it does provide in-game.
It wasn't about the impact on the games, it was Blizzard having the audacity to break their privacy agreements without the consent of the players. It's one thing for Real ID to be totally optional in-game, but making it mandatory on the forums is another matter entirely. Tech Support will often refer you to the forums if you contact them in-game, so for many people the forums are totally unavoidable.
Regardless, I didn't cancel my account, I just stopped playing for a few days and kept my ear to the ground (I did cancel my Cataclysm pre-order though, but I can always just make it again), and now that Blizzard's proven that they really do listen to their players, I'm glad I didn't bail out as fast as some of the other guys did. Now that I've been exposed to EVE and Aion though, I don't think I'll ever be completely addicted again.
Incidentally, EVE is a confusing mess at first appearance and I'm disappointed that the controls aren't more flight simulator-ish (I was hoping it'd be something like TIE Fighter Online, and it's really really not). On the other hand, I'm really impressed by some of the stories I've heard that have come out of this game, like the heist and that whole business with Goonswarm and Band of Brothers. So yeah, not a very good first impression but I'm not going to ditch it just because of that.

I don't really see the change as a big problem, more like a solution so it would stop all that annoying trolling that plagued the forums. Can't really go in that forum without feeling dumber, Though its just as bad as the Forums on Nexon.net.

Giving EVE a shot ATM. Will report back with initial impressions in a few hours.Take your time an be patient, EVE is damn fun and rewarding for those who have patience.
The only thing I dislike is how, with the skill system, it takes years of continuous play to get to a decent standard. If your mates start before you, you pretty much get phased out, just because you literally can't catch up (skilled or otherwise).
Not true, got a battleship with the finest ship build in less than 2 months.
I still need more ISKs though for some of the parts, I wonder if Black Mesa is willing to loan me.

Maybe RuneScape?
Now you probably think that RuneScape is a cheap rip-off of WoW and I admit that partly, it is. The sad thing is that most people start RS get called noobs by some retarded player and think the community sucks. Although, when you become a member (Think it's 5$/Month) the IQ of the players rises =P
If you think of playing it don't let the noobs let you down!
(But most likely you have already played RS in 2002 - 2004, thought the graphics sucks and stampled it as shit >_>)
The best with RS though is that you pretty much never have to rely on other people. (Just a few quests need 2 people working together) So it's great if you're tired of people messing up raids.

Runescape has enough interesting content and ideas to make a decent game of, actually. It's just the graphics and supreme nerfing that make it nigh-on unplayable.

No one has suggested DFO yet, it's totally free as well and alot of Fakku plays it to my knowledge.

Runescape is a great game that has its ups and downs. It reminds me of dark spire in a way lol. Only major problem is that most players brag and lvling from the start is boring.

I dont really play the usual point and click type games.....I play more like...uhh dexterious games that utilize timing and keyboard mashing LOL. Like Lunia and Valkyrie Sky. Ghost X is pretty fun too. Grand Chase was my favourite for some time Lol. Btw they are all free. O.o
Btw IMO Megaten MMO sucked. xD I+Dont get me wrong Love the company, Persona ftw~!! But Megaten online just disappointed me.
