The Lord of Butts!
Well if you liked the first HP game then you will have lots of fun with this one (i tried the demo), but sadly iits nothing that i would buy , atleast not at full price, since theres Gt5 coming out in some days, and next year Nfs Shift 2 will return as well. But like i said, people who enjoyed HP from younger days will sure have their fun.

Why don't you try renting it first? It's what I do. I like to give games a "test-run" (or "test-play" in this case) first before buying them. That way I'm not wasting money on something I won't like. But on topic the game was alright in my opinion. The graphics are nice and the attention to detail is incredible. The new autolog system can get the game to be quite addicting and the same can be said for the online play. The sad part was that there is NO customization at all and it can be frustrating at times. But all in all, it was a good game.

I would try renting but there is no rental place near me and even if there was I don't have the required credit card in order to pay for it.

Credit card? Um, I don't think rental places require you to use a credit card. Hell, I always use cash when I rent games.

last rental place I went to required a credit card in case you dint return the game they can keep billing you till you do.

I have a copy, it's worth buying but then again I loved the original Hot Pursuit and Hot Pursuit 2 games. The online-play is fantastic and getting gold on each race is actually a challenging and rewarding feat in single-player. Drifting style is a bit different compared to other NFS games but if you've played a lot of racer's you'll get used to it fairly quickly. The way they worked motion blur into the game makes the environments look stunning.

Kind of Important
A ray of Tsunlight.
It's good fun alright.
HP2 was pretty much my crack back in middle school.
Only thing that irritates me is that there is no manual. (As in, control of gears. Not a book kind of manual)
I've always preferred that, and I'm used to it to the point that some of the fun is gone cause I have to sit there and wait for the shitty timing the game has for shifting.

Bought it, it's pretty fun. AI seems a bit overpowered at times, but still manageable. I particularly love how you can change the control scheme and edit whatever buttons you want. If i rmb correctly, Shift didn't have that, had to use stupid R2/L2 to accelerate and brake.
