Nintendo DSi XL

OK, Nintendo has gone crazy.
Introducing the DSi XL (DSi LL in Japan), which stands for DSi Xtra Large. This new DS has a 93% larger screen than DSi, and is 50% heavier. It doesn't fit inside most pockets.

The DSi XL will release in 2010.
Look at the size of this thing!! OK, we know the DS is awesome, but can you PLEASE just release the new DS already? This is seriously getting dry. >_< Worse yet, the screen is the same resolution as the previous model, only larger.
In the last six month period ending in September, Nintendo sold 11.70 million DS units and reached life-to-date sales of 113.48 million units. The Nintendo DS is the best and fastest selling handheld gaming console of all time.

I like it. I haven't always liked things that get smaller especially when it comes to screen size. Since I didn't buy a DSi I might buy this.

This thing's screen may be massive, but its resolution is the same. It doesn't fit inside most pockets and is heavier than the PSP-1000.

Aside from me being outside the DSixl demographic, it's totally asking me to buy it. I still have the prototype/fat model and no longer have a use for the GBA slot and I have large hands so a bigger stylus is much appreciated. Only problem might be the weight. In any case, I'll be able to hold off until the next Game Boy/DS comes out. It does seem to be too soon to announce something like this considering that DSi hasn't been out that long, but I guess Nintendo is anxious the break the PS2's unit sales.

The DSi XL is not meant to compete with the DSi. They're aimed at different markets, so I see no surprise that they announced it so soon after the DSi.
But even so, no matter how much they try to hide it with these refreshes, you still can't deny the fact that this thing is...like how many years old?
Waiting for the next console is the wise thing to do at this point if you already have a DS. If you don't, just grab a DSL because the DS does have some very good games (despite the rubbish hardware).

Coming from a DSi and ex-DS owner,im 100% serious when I say the PSP PWNS the DSi and other DSs,You can do many things with a PSP,download vids, upload pics, surf the internet, listen to music.A DSi can take up to 300 pics, you can ONLY listen to music if you have a SD card, surf the web, download crappy games from the internet, and make stupid noises.DON'T even get me started on the games.
I don't wanna piss anybody off,but I think the PSP owns the DS.
we just gotta wait for the XboX portable to see if the PSP is the most dominate handheld console.

Hardware-wise I agree the PSP and the iPod touch dominates the DS, but when it comes to games, I think the DS's library is by far better than the PSP's (iTouch is a joke).

Who buys an iTouch for games?

It basically targeted everyone without a DS who had never owned a GBA or other portable system before.

the DS seems as it was aimed at young kids. How many rated M games are on for the nintendo DS?

im not saying a game needs to be rated M to be fun.I thought the pokemon games for DS were fun,but there are hardly any M rated games for the DS.Mini games is something I keep noticing in DS games
off-topic:Why are many systems becoming slim o_O

Ds lite can do most of things a psp can do. Just buy an R4.
