I just watched the Press Conference of Nintendo at the E3.
And I came billion times.. [sorry Fakku. You have still failed to accomplish that within an hour]
I simply love Nintendo and with the Wii U nobody can deny anymore..
Is there anyone actually who still thinks another console is better than the upcoming Wii U?

There are 2 consoles that are in the making as we speak. So to say its better than another console is kinda biased.
But to the point. I wasn't very excited at the mention of the Wii u. I'm going to need something amazing for them to blow me away.

That makes no sense. He's clearly saying 'is there a better console out there than this right now'. We don't yet know of any others than the PS3 and 360, and I would say that yes, this is better than those.
Technically, from what has been gleaned so far, the Wii U should be the most powerful console ever. And until people get beyond HD TVs, how much can Sony or Microsoft improve on full 1080p? The gadgetry of course is a matter of taste, but I think it opens up great possibilities, as evidently do a lot of developers.

While I do like the idea of this new console, remember the fact that Nintendo is only doing this due to the fatal flaw of Wii, the games. Although I am glad that they are fixing some of the problems like graphics, remember that it's usually the games on the system that will make or break it. here's what I think
Pros: Better graphics
Touch screen Controller [Cool Feature I do have to say]
It's a new system with new features, always a plus.
Will have games like Tekken and Battlefield 3
Will have new games like Zelda, Mario, Hopefully metroid, etc. the works
Minus: Will lack majority of the mainstream games like Call of Duty as stated
[wants to reach out to traditional gamers as well as casual players who
aren't all that into franchises like Call of Duty]
Controller does not look like it can play games that require movement [Main
selling point of Wii]
Knowing Nintendo, Price with be much too high with hype
The Fatal Flaw of Nintendo, the games; they lack a strong franchise like
Halo, Gears, Killzone, etc., and have too many 3rd party games that seem
like overpriced apps that suck.
Hopes[Means what I want to see on the Wii U]:
Better Memory capacity of at least 120 GB, a standard for Xbox 360 and PS3
Has a HDMI port, or at least comes with component cords to allow for the
better graphics
Hoping they can get Franchises that will keep people coming back.
Stop making too many remakes of games and start something new
Wii Shops will come with better games and less 3rd party developers who
can't seem to make a decent one.
Internet Browser that actually is decent [can play videos, faster loading
times, more connectivity]
The Wii U has to be backwards compatible [Can play Wii games and use the
Wii-Remote, Nunchuks etc.
Should be able to play DVDS, music, videos, etc. [Standard on Consoles]
Should improve the online experience drastically [Online on Wii is shit]
Adds like a achievement/trophy system like Xbox and PS3.
So yeah, this is what I think of it, but I think I won't buy it until prices have decreased by at least 50 dollars of initial price, have some of the better games, and is a bundle. Also, remember that Microsoft and Sony don't even have to improve upon the system to compete with Nintendo for at least another year, so who knows what they can produce. So honestly, I think this is more of a hype and that it's an innovation for consoles, but will Nintendo make good use of this innovation?

I misunderstood I thought he was speaking as though it was going to be better than the new systems coming out. Honestly I could care less about if they can improve on 1080p. 720 is just fine for me. But that could be because I was recently on a 240p or 360p tv. What I want the Wii U to do is do something I've never seen before. Something amazing. Sure the game streaming is nice but I feel only a small minority would use it. I know I wouldn't since I have no need to move it to there from my tv. I am interested on what it can do for Zelda. Because when it comes to Zelda they use all of the possibility they can with the system. Like the Phantom Hourglass.

As always, my interest for consoles is strongly based on the games (exclusives) that it will have.

A fair point. I think having the tech there for HD streaming, touch control, gyroscopes etc. gives developers a lot to play with though, and I am very interested to see how they utilise it in the realm of proper console games.

I think that will be the case, since thy already showed samples of the new controller playing at the same time with the old controler..
You also said "Controller does not look like it can play games that require movement [Main selling point of Wii]"
which, if the old remote can really be used, makes such games posible.
But what I really liked about this Wii U, that they seem to make up for the lack of 'hardcore' and new games [the had almost zero shooters and hose out didnt really work] and graphics.. Those were simply major flaws on the Wii.
SO I'm looking forward to it anyways.

I agree, but i'm going to wait instead of buying it right off the bat.

I see the new Wii U as an over sized DS, will wait until good games that utilize that second screen well comes out.

While I recognize that Nintendo is pushing the tech of gaming consoles, I won't be sold on it due to Nintendo's family friendly gaming policy. I play games like Saints Row and Fallout damn near religiously and if Nintendo can't sate my virtual bloodlust, then I won't be buying their console. I follow consoles for their games and their online services, not the hardware.

I have no real reason to buy this console. I get my hardcore gaming fix from PS3/PC, and I'm pretty tired of mario, zelda, etc. Its great that Nintendo is bringing back the hardcore gamers, but I'm just not interested.
