A long time ago, I uploaded files in large size for Sakurahana, even though Gcelly and Watever uploaded in 100mb. I uploaded in large size because I had purely wanted to share with people. Then there was the whole issue with the admins being against rep-whoring and all, and finally, I decided I had it. I was fed up with people not giving reps, and the admins highly unsupportive of that. So I decided, if I uploaded something to share, then I better gain something from it. There's no point looking out solely for the people without looking out for yourself. No matter how much they take from you, some people will never even say thanks.

So I uploaded in small size now. Gains are slow, but better than nothing. In fact, I have 10000 MU points now.

It's a lot better than getting exasperated over no appreciation shown.

One thing though. I believe that a standard size benefits most uploaders, rather than the biggest possible. If their speed is slow, they have to leave their computer on the whole day just to get a 500mb file, and that's assuming if it completes. Unless they intend to leave their computer on without monitoring, 100mb files will not cause any inconvenience.
