It has less to do with age and more so his environment and social activity (i.e. if he spends a lot of time on the net and finds these things on pirating, if he has a lot of geeky friends who pirate frequently, or if the community he lives in promotes sports or other activities that don't involve technology or anything else that will expose him to pirating)

I'd just like to say, for myself, that I do not know how to pirate nor do I care to learn because it was never in my interest. I do not want to pirate games. I feel I can spend my time elsewhere rather than deal with downloading a game on my laptop. And, as Roven said, I may spend time on my computer a good deal of a day, but I don't spend it searching on such information.

I'm not trying to dissuade pirates from pirating btw; pirate to your hearts content~^^ (Just so long as the majority of the world doesn't, I suppose~ XD)

Most titles I download - I won't even bother saying pirate - is stuff that is no longer available except from E-Bay for a leg and arm.

I'm that crazy guy who won't use Win 7 'cause I can't run 16-bit installers on it.

I'm a pirate, but only under certain conditions:

1) The games have to be untranslated. I have no intention of buying a game that isn't in english. If an english translation comes along, I'll buy the actual game. I bought Tobal 2 when I found an english translation for it. I'm currently playing it on my psp. The only other untranslated game I downloaded is Bleach Heat the soul 6.

2) I have a gamefly account and I rip the psp games I rent onto my memory stick. If I like the games, I'll purchase them, but if i don't like them, I'll just delete it.


Everything else is legit buy. With the exception of certain pc games.

That's about the same for me.

Xbox 360 games are the only ones I buy. The only original PS3 game we have is Metal Gear 4 the rest are downloaded. Why? We're poor and most of the games I play games on PS3 mostly because some games just dont get bublished on xbox.

And a bit of off-topic: music I download too. And most of the movies. I have bought some music albums, but only when I know for sure that the artist is self bublishing them and thus getting the money for himself. (and I know it for sure by knowing the artist or knowing someone who knows him)

Also, some people say that "game makers lose money because you're downloading their games illegally and not buying them" No, they dont. Because some things I download I would not buy them because a. I'm poor b. the game isnt SO good I'd want to pay for it, but its good enough for me to download it and play it for few hours.

And sometimes if I download something I might end up buying it afterwards because I enjoyed it so much.

I buy my games on Steam. I have the cash, so I don't mind spending it on a good game.
