Possible United States Xbox 360 Ban

There was an article that came out on April 23, 2012 regarding Motorola claiming that Microsoft was in violation of Motorola's WiFi and video codec patents and is asking for a ban of 360s using Motorola technology. The verdict will be in August and may be up to Obama and his advisors on whether or not the 360 should be banned. Also the 360/windows 7 is banned in Germany and if Motorola wins, Microsoft will be impacted if they lose sales in the US.
Now both PS3 fans and Xbox 360 fans what do you think of Motorola actions against Microsoft?

I have both major consoles but I use my Xbox for everything but JRPGs so I really hope they do not ban it.

What the German ban here.. nah i think it not going to matter... They was suppose to break Microsoft up and ban office in the states.. 5 years later still one company and still one program.

Anyways it will be a ban of any newly made one after the thing is sign. BUY BEFORE THEY BANNED THAT VERSION OF XBOX.. five days later they will be a new non niggerola wifi.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the Wii under fire back in 2008 after allegations were made by Hillcrest Laboratories, claiming that Nintendo violated 4 of their technology patents? If I recall properly, three were tied into a “handheld three-dimensional pointing device”, and a fourth one was regarding a “navigation interface display system that graphically organises content for display on television”. Overall, that seemed like a more severe case than what Microsoft is going through now, and Nintendo got out of their little situation just fine.

Well hate to say but... Microsoft will lose this one.
I just hope the douche-bags that play Xbox 360 don't ruin Ps3. (I own a Xbox 360 and I'm not saying everybodys a douche-bag, just some people)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but according to this article the 360's that face the risk of being banned are the 4GB and 250GB Slim models only, no mention is made of any other. Is that correct?

I hope they will ban dem boxes, i don't get enough rage messages since most of the PSN userbase is intelligent enough.

Motorola and Microsoft are arguing like kids, and most likely nothing will come of it. At the moment no verdict has been reached since while Motorola does in fact have the patent rights they're claiming, mainly the H.264 video-codec, this mess they have created trying to simply blackmail Microsoft into accepting their offer on about $4 billion is in violation of the FRAND agreement. So it will probably play itself out. Motorola will most likely be forced to let Microsoft use the video-codec for a cheaper price. However, there will most likely be a raise in prices for Microsoft products. Again.

Funny thing is microsoft does have a patent on avc h.264 for creation and uses in 16 counties( i actually had to find the patent list.). They with other people created the codec in the ITU-T Video Coding Experts Group which had Microsoft, Motorola and five other companies there working on this codec and brain storming a better one also.

Which is funny because even if they would make them pay the 4billion.. the 360 is going to be a dead console soon anyways. Only people buying ps3 and xbox now are replacing there dead machines. Maybe a few kids with mommy debit card or something.

Ah, if it turn out to be true I'll be loving every second of it. I'm tired of 360 fans ripping PS3's because they supposedly have more games and better game play. Sony only allows the best console games for their system.
