Yes FF7 For sure. I found 8 to be to short & 9 was okay. Also if you had not tried it, the OG Gran Turismo was pretty fun to :-) There are a great deal of games, I guess it depends on what you like to play.
I had liked the Armor Core series, Army Men, The Resident Evils, Silent Hill, Crash Bandicoot, Duke Nukem, Dynasty Warriors, Grand Theft Autos, Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee & so much more. The list could just go on & on & on @.@

Megaman X5 - X4 is too easy X6 is too hard
Parrapa the rapper - play it for the songs
Wild 9 - i liked it

Gex: Deep Cover Gecko (platformer)
FF7, FF8. - no need to point genre :D
Crash Bandicoot 1, 2, 3 (platformer), Crash Team Racing (cartoon-ish racing).
Gran Turismo 1, 2 (racing sim).
Time Crisis 1, 2 (shoot'em up, pistol needed)
Klonoa 2 (platformer)
Toomba 2 (platformer)

Legend of Dragoon
In my opinion, one of the best RPG's made. It has a great battle system, mostly likable characters, and one hardcore storyline that'll leave you wanting more.

Don't quite know why I like it so much, but it just seemed to click with me more than 7 did. Better story, I think.

Vagrant Story ~ It has a nice battle system, the footsteps are a pain to listen to, though.

Parasite Eve [I liked this a lot more than FF7, but that could be because I'm more into the horror genre]
Devil Dice [at first play, this is by far the hardest puzzle game. But after a few plays, you'll get into the groove of things. The second game, Bombastic (ps2) has a really bizarre story mode]
Intelligent Qube [greatest puzzle game soundtrack ever, very inventive take on the action puzzle genre. the other games in the series are Final (ps1) Remix+ (ps2) and Mania (psp, basically a huge mix of the entire series)
