PS2 Recommendations

So I probably like most people here have spent a lot of time with anime and video games, however I am hitting the age old needz a recommendation. I am still mainly a ps2 gamer because i was out of the country in the middle of butt no where zimbabwe. so trying to catch up on those 3 years now that i have been back for an extended amount of time.
I am mainly a jrpg'er any shin megami game.
horror does me too just after i did silent hill, fatal frame, dead space I was lost for finding any more.
I was hoping some people could help me out. no fps through, not a big fan of the genre.

I forgot the name, I remember it was basically just a batch of boss fights involving random gods, and beautiful enviroments. I'll try to find out what it was called.
Also check out Summoner 2 and Monster hunter.
My favourite PS2 game has to be Viewtiful Joe though, that was so damn fun.

If you are a action gamer, God of War 1 and 2 are worthy for your collection. And although the HD collection of it just came out ago for next gen systems, you can try the Devil May Cry trilogy.
There are some good old PS2 Japanese style rpgs you may have not tried. The Xenosaga trilogy first comes to mind, then there's Tales of the Abyss, a must have for any serious RPG along with Persona 3 and 4.
Another rpg that mixes horror and comedy along with a unique battle system you can try is the Shadow Hearts trilogy. Shadow Hearts 3 can be avoided if it's your personal preference, but part 2 especially was one of the best PS2 games released when it came out, so I suggest you get the first two.

Shadow Hearts is a really dark Rpg but it's very enjoyable, Jak and Daxter is a 3D action like ratchet and clank and some may consider it the better one (myself included)

The game you're talking about is Shadow of the Colossus. I recommend that and Ico, if you can't find PS2 copies of those you can also pick up the HD Collection on PS3 which has both of them on the same disc.
Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 are my recommendations. They're not FPS's, but third person stealth action games. They have an HD Collection of those as well but 95% of the extras that were in the PS2 versions were taken out(like the skateboarding minigame in MGS2, Snake vs Monkey and the Nightmare scene in MGS3)

guilty gear I have heard of over and over again. so its really that good? just picked up "viewtiful joe" ty for the assist there. I'll have to pick up there other games next time I head out to entertainmart.
Thank you every one for the help!! Any more would be great.(not trying to be greedy or un-thankful)
and to any one that sees this. digital devil saga and nocturne are ridiculously fun games if you a big rpg'er. I still cant beat the optional bosses at the end of dds2 on hard.
artcellrox I have played and beaten Okami on the ps2 and Wii. they really need to remake it with the new motion plus controller but still a great game none the less.
