PSN Charging people for online?

I was recently talking to a friend of mine on PSN and she was saying that PSN was going to charge people for online. I really doubt this is even going to happen. But the reason I made this was because I'm wondering what you guys think.

its a common rumor going around. If they do, good for them then because they need the money to improve PSN.
I mean PSN is severely lacking in content compared to XBL.

That won't change a thing unfortunately. It will just boost sale numbers. In the end Sony aren't making much off selling a PS3 in the first place. Also Sony aren't quite the software geniuses M$ are either.

Eh true. But I would rather have a PS3. The only game that would make me want my 360 to be fixed again is Tales of Vesperia. And Star Ocean is coming to the PS3 soon from what I heard. Same with Last Remnant. The only changes I would love to see is listening to music while playing a game, Party Chat, and more chess boards(even though I suck at chess).

I remember awhile back when they sent questionnaires to the Asian market about a subscription plan. I think it was, you pay a subscription fee and get unlimited downloads from the PSN store.


But that was like...a year or two ago.

I would actually support them in that endevour. For the sake of not trying to sound like a 360 fanboy, but let's face the facts, PSN is inferior to XBL. I don't care how you want to slice-and-dice it, it just is. However, I will give them kudos for having PSN be as closely comparable to XBL as it is while being free. PSN may end up costing money, but if they can make it equal or better than XBL's service then they should go for it.

I never understood why people complained about having to pay for XBL; if you are really going to complain about paying $50 a year than you are either twelve-years-old or unemployed. Even then, if you can't scrounge up $50 in a year then that's just your sad problem.

Yeah, I'm not going to pay for shit. I paid for my XBL account for 2 years and I didn't really care for the shit I got with it. That might be one of the reasons why I like my PS3 more, cause it's free. PlayStation ain't going to change shit.

Yup. As long as I can actually play the game online, I really don't give a damn about the service or any of the extra but pointless features.

Well I saw one episode there once. I don't really go to home that often. I heard they also played the bleach moive memories of a nobody or something. I don't really remember the title.
