PSP Mods

Sooo... I just bought a PSP 3000 thinking to get the latest and greatest version of PSP since I was dropping $100+. Unfortunately, I just realized that my PSP has v6.20 firmware. So does this mean I'm doomed to never be able to put emulators or mods on my PSP? I know most current mods are not working for my model of PSP, but is their not a single thing that I can put on it?

well, I think that you can ChickHen it.
don't know how to actually do it, since my PSP is the Fat 1000 series, and it's already running on a CFW.

Nah. Sorry dude, but the 3000 can't be hacked with the more recent OFWs installed. I tried to do my cousin's 3000, and I almost bricked it. If you wanted to put on a CFW ya should have bought the phat, a.k.a. 1000 series. Only solution I got is to not update it anymore, eventually someones gonna release the right CFW for it. Last I checked the progress is really slow going. So it might take a while.

you should have bought a old slim or brick and did the modding then but I think the newest firmware atm is gen 5.50 d-3 I think...but ya sorry dude

UNFORTUNATELY ChickHEN works on FW 5.03 ONLY so you're doomed to wait an eternity until the Homebrew-Scene finds a new Exploit.
Thank God my PSP is still Pandora -able ;)

If you have the money. you should just change the Mother Board. but if you are an Urban-poor guy then you should just wait for the exploits.

You COULD, of course, degrade it to become a 5.00 or 5.03 firmware. THEN install the ChickHen and Gen-C

Unfortunately, PSP-3000s cannot be downgraded(I tried)
I recommend getting a PSP-2000, It's easy to install CFW and it's not as bulky as the PSP-1000.

Thats true the old ones are gigantic when I hold thoe instead of the slims. I was hoping they would have figured out a way for the psp go but I returned the 2 I got cause the design was horrible....I liked my old ones bttr

You really should've got a PSP 2000 instead. I think ChickHen will work, put you won't be able to turn your system off (only on standby), and if you do turn it off, you'll have to re-mod it (which is extremely easy, though).
