AWWW... i just found out that I shouldn't update my PS3 via USB if I ever buy it OUTSIDE North America. I got mine from Kuwait, courtesy of my mom, and Te PS3 is currently here, in the Philippines. argh!

if you want you can try bringing it to greenhills and someone there have a look at it, but i can't guarantee that you won't get robbed there while your carrying that ^___^
you just gave me an awesome idea. thanks. I might do that once I decide to update My console. Better have THEM check for me than regret it... and I don't think I've got a problem with getting robbed... and if you're talkin about the Greenbelt Rolex robbery thing, that's a different story.
speaking of which, how much do you think that'd cost me?... and do you think future games would require the update? (like my game uncharted, it needed to update, but I just disabled my connection to play it.) will there be games wherein I need the internet to? search for the update?

no, you can still play games, you just can't use online features in the game if you don't update the game. As for the price i don't know but its just servicing so it shouldn't be a problem. Problem would be looking for the right store/stall to go to

I noticed that the update file you can DL from this site SHOULDN"T be DLed if the PS3 wasn't bought within North America (read notes for info). I'm from the Phillipines and I got mine ALL the way fro Kuwait. Of course, there's STILL the system update via direct DL through console. I was just wondering WHERE the console get's the update, and if I SHOULD let it update with that procedure. I've been hearing that some people's PS3's hang whenever they update... (is it me or did we already hear this -_-")
Also, HOW COME THERE'S NO HELP SUPPORT FOR PHILIPPINES HERE?>:(

place as Hong Kong, thats the best place to replace inputting philippines
