Ragnarok Online

I noticed that both of the already existing RO-threads was dedicated to private-servers, so here's for us who play on the Official servers, kinda... Not only.

I started playing this again just today after a 4-5 year break, new account, new server.
Being the cheap bastard I am I play on the F2P Valkyrie server on the iRO-client instead of reviving my old account on... Well, I don't even remember.
A lot of things have happened since I last played, such as the extended classes, new maps, the destruction of Morroc and so on. And from what I see around the game some new EQ too.

And well to the point, how many F!-members play the game and where? Private or official? Regional? Are there any highly-populated private servers worth playing on nowadays? Needless to say I've lost contact with all the peeps I used to hang out with and would love to group up with some fellow players, if not only to get some pointers, I was never a great RO-player, used to play a lvl 80/60 something Hunter on the iRO Loki server, but well... that was back in 2005.

Right now I play a thief named Chlorie on the iRO Valkyrie server, lvl 31/22.
How about you guys?

Still play on iRO Ymir (they merged Loki, Chaos and Iris into one) from time to time, but not much else. Can't stand pservers anymore unless they're lower rates with 99/70 level caps.

Used to play from 1999 Beta to 2005. From 9 years of age to 15. Won the USRC twice, and participated 5 times in the finals. Twice as Deuno Convena (first victory), Twice Wild Blades, once has Deity (second victory).

Due to me not being 18, I let someone borrow my account for the 3 world championship I was invited too in Tokyo.

I used to be known, and getting girls go on webcam naked for zeny or item was easy.

Fast question; Does 4-slotted Maces still go for around 50-100k like they did all those years ago?

And will there be this copious amount of bots everywhere? Shit has gotten out of hand.

One of the reasons I left Official RO.

Playing Private servers just for the quick play and easy to achieve goals.

Same here. I got tired of having to put in so much time. High rate servers (that aren't to hectic) let you level fast and do what you want for fun. Of course then you lose interest in the game quickly after that.

I've always liked the kinda slow rate of the official RO, it's well... relaxing, just find some chill guys and hang out. But the bots. <_< Five years ago there were a few bots every where and there, now they're everywhere, on every single map. Not only do they ruin the gameplay for us that are hunting in those maps, but also the community that this game used to have, more bots just makes the game more competitive which leads to people not just chillin' anymore. D:



Apparently not, after about 16 hours vending them and not a single one sold at 35k it seems hopeless.

yeah, it's relaxing if I was as lucky (I wasn't a rare item magnet, more like a repellent), and have money to even play it first at that time. lol

playing high rate P.servers, made my RO dreams come true. and then have the time to quit before entering the addictive phase.

There is something nice about hanging out with people and over time seeing your in game friends level up.

But at the same time, I can solo an MVP in a high rate server and that is awesome.

Dang... I haven't played Ragnarok Online in such a long time. Used to play the Beta in 1999, and I was like 9 then.

Oh my. I didn't know we had a local celebrity-turned-nobody in the forums.

....Actually, I always thought that that just happened in the movies.





Anyway. I used to be a beta player. Too stupid to understand, so I put tons of INT on my swordsman for magma breaker, got jacked by a mage, claiming to be able to upgrade my item to a +4 bastard Sword (Hey, I didn't pay much attention to the sprites then), let someone use my account to (without me knowing) use it to jack other users... And I deleted it when the joblvl is at 39...


Yep, good times. goooood times.
